Ok, I think for the new test they extend the testing window in to the first week of the black out month.

What is your favorite final review test bank?

Normally I use Ninja MCQ which I absolutely love (as much as you can love a CPA product, I suppose) but since the product has been put into packages which cost more and include products I don't want, I am considering a different route. I have Wiley test bank already, but I only used it my first go around with FAR (67) so that left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Do you think I should just use Wiley test bank or are there any other ones that are cheaper than the Scout package of Ninja ($127)?

Wow! what a rude awakening. I even went and double checked. That's a bummer. It is also my “favorite” MCQ platform but what if you already have the notes and flashcards… Makes no sense pay more for the MCQ. What a bummer 🙁

ill probably end up buying the “scout” package for REG just because the test bank has been helping me. 100% i wont be using the notes and flashcards. its pretty smart on jeff's part. he knows the mcq is the most valuable item. he can justify charging more by bundling it in a package with stuff you won't use. at least REG will hopefully be my last exam.

I agree that it sucks. I really wish I would have known it was going to happen, that way I could have gone ahead and purchased the MCQs last week or something before the change, but there was never a notice that the individual purchases were ending, was there? It's kind of rubbed me the wrong way and so I am not going to purchase a package.

It is a good marketing move because no matter what, people are going to be paying more. But for me, with this potentially being my last exam, I really can't afford to drop extra money on something. Through application fees, exam costs, Wiley costs, 4 hour round trip travel to the Prometric center and being unemployed…I don't have much extra room to give! I do wish he would have kept the MCQs at least separate if no other item since it seems it is the most purchased item on here. Oh well. Unless I find a different alternative, I'm sticking with Wiley for review with this exam!

Hi everyone! I'm usually just a reader of these forums, but they've been a great resource, so I figured I would join the conversation. I'm taking my exam on August 22nd. I've taken FAR and REG in this quarter so far (full time studying) and I've been using Wiley CPAExcel to study. I was really impressed with their material and lectures for FAR and REG, but BEC is the exact opposite! The lecturer for Econ and financial management is so dry and only reads off the PowerPoints 🙁 He also speaks extremely slow – if anyone knows how to speed up the videos, please let me know!! also really disappointed in the number of TBS problems in this section. Not sure how Wiley had such great material for the other sections and then let this happen in BEC!

@baileyshea i agree. i feel pretty good about the mcq but i feel totally unprepared for the TBS because of the lack of TBS available with Wiley. Surprisingly, Ninja MCQ doesnt even have a single TBS for BEC. They are all written communication problems.

that said, im pretty sure we can expect some kind of TBS relating to variances or cost accounting. maybe a couple TBS that are more reading and conceptual like internal control or IT.

I would say that the Wiley TBS practice problems (the ones that worked anyway–did anyone else notice missing tabs??) Prepared me pretty well for the SIMS and WC.

@Lnags lol yes i def noticed those missing tabs. what the hell!? several of the TBS grade incorrectly as well. glad to hear it prepared you well. that makes me feel a little more confident. what was your strategy for practicing the WC?

@kenckang yes the wrong grading! I reached out to them about that and got no reply. It was really annoying; I'd do the practice tests and like a 60 because of those.

For the WC, I would say best advice is just to practice fleshing out answers that may be BS. I had one I was confident about, one I was so so about and one in which I knew the general concept but really not any particulars. They are essentially a grab bag from any of the broader topics. For the most part though, they weren't as specific as the ones in Wiley. I'm concerned about disclosure so I'm being vague 😂

Hi guys. I have a question.

X corporation uses the EOQ model. If EOQ for product A is 200 units and X maintains a 50 unit safety stock for the item, what is the average inventory of product A?

    The answer is presumably 200/2 + 50 = 150

My question is, why is 200 being divided by 2? 2 seems arbitrary, but maybe I am missing something.

    @bardol@seawo

Because Average inventory is (beg inv+ end inv)/2

Thanks!! Forgot about that. Wish Becker would go more in-depth with some of their answers…sometimes I feel so lost after their explanation!
