@Kls238, it usually takes me 2-3 days per section to do the whole lecture, write notes, finish all MCQs. I do not leave MCQs for last because I don't feel that would be efficient for me. Some people swear by it but I think if I wait until the end I will lose a lot of good information in my head immediately after the lecture. :)I have the luxury of not working right now so I am not sure how feasible it is for someone who is working. At the very least I would want to have all the formulas summarized and written out, because that is the only way I can keep them fresh & memorized. After that I try to copy my notes over and over again to ensure that I am always at least thinking of the information and it doesn't get lost. If I was in a time crunch, I would definitely suggest doing MCQs over anything else because that is ultimately the best way to learn, by applying knowledge. People say it is bad to memorize the MCQs but I have noticed that during the exam I am able to recall the process of the MCQs I practiced and know the correct process for the real test.

Sorry for the long response, hope it helped. Good luck!

To me BEC doesn't seem to have difficult concepts, except maybe variances. The difficult part of BEC is that there is alot of memorization, both terms and formulas. My strategy has been watch lectures without taking notes, go back through and make note cards of all important terms and formulas, do MCQ's. I then move on to the next module with the same strategy but add reading note cards from previous modules. I am using Yaeger and Wiley.

I don't think Becker did a great job at preparing me for this exam. There were a few IT questions that were not in the review. I had minimal Economics questions which were a little disappointing. I was a little disappointed with one of the NPV questions due to the fact that Becker doesn't teach you how to get the discount factor bc its usually given in all of the multiple choice I've done. Overall, I don't feel very confident about this exam. Wishing for the best. Time to move on to FAR.

I am scheduled to take the test on Friday but determining whether to reschedule or not. Big questions is how many Writing questions are there and how many actually count?

It the weight still 85% on the questions and 15% on the writing?

    FAR 66, 77 11/27/2012
    AUD 72, 69, 85 12/5/13
    REG 76 10/17/2013

@graywolf, your score weighting is correct. There are 3 written communications and 1 is “pre-test” and does not count towards your score.

    Hi All,

I'm currently studying Module 46: Cost Measurement in the 2013 BEC Wiley book. The section on By-Products is VERY small, and I'm not really understanding the MCQs on this topic. Do you guys have any tips on how to prepare for By-Products?

Thanks and good luck to everyone! 🙂
