jeffKeymasterGuess I’ll kick it off!
Scheduled to take BEC on 4/19. It’s my last test so I’m putting as much study time in as I can. If I pass I get promoted, if I don’t pass I don’t get promoted, so the pressure is on!!
Good luck to everyone taking BEC this quarter!

AnonymousInactiveHi Allmostthere22. I had the same feeling as you when I was working on chapters 1 – 3 with Becker. Chapters 4, 5 and 6 are much easier. It took me forever to get through the homework on Chapters 2 and 3 and I was really bummed out. So, what I did was get through all of the questions once and not worry about “passing” on all of the homework. Then, once I completed chapters 4, 5 and 6, I went back to chapters 2 and 3 and finished them with a 90% or higher. It helped get me through the material and kept me motivated. I too took REG on 2/28 and got an 84 but, my BEC test is next Tuesday, April 2nd. So, I have had less time to work on BEC which has worked well to keep me motivated, as well.
I have had a difficult time staying motivated since this is my last CPA exam that I need to take. I work full time and have three kids. Luckily, I took two weeks off to study since I was concerned about the tight time frame to get through the material. If I can do it, you can. Best of luck!

LT-PMemberHi CaliGal! Thanks so much for this. I've been stuck on these chapters for weeks but I definitely need to just move on for now. The problem with Ch 2-3 is there are SOOO many formulas. I can't believe they expect us to know all of these. Chapter 4 doesn't look so bad so that will hopefully be a confidence booster. Aside from the physical pain I experience I don't nearly as much on my plate as you do; so I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and just get to work!
And our REG date and score is pretty funny. Hopefully I have the same outcome as you for my remaining sections 🙂 Thanks again.
- passed all 4 exams on my first try using Becker!
Ethics: TBD

AnonymousInactiveAlmostthere22,
No problem. Yes, I know the calculations and number of problems are painful. The good thing is that if you get through them all and then work towards the 90% correct, you will have done so many of the problems, figuring them out almost be comes second nature! I know that is crazy, but there are very few I will need to memorize for the exam because as I am doing the progress tests and final test, I knew just about all of them.
Hang in there. You can do it! You also have plenty of time. So do not stress.
OJFWEroiu, I am not sure what you are using to study but, if you have progress tests, do the progress tests that way you will touch each chapter regularly and do MCQs from each area. I would do the Final Review closer to your test date. Everyone is different. I would recommend keep doing MCQs and make sure you are prepared for the writing section of the exam. Good luck!

so1913ParticipantOk, I'm sooo glad I'm not alone with this B1 and B2 material. It's really grinding on my confidence, it's taking me forever to get through them and grasp the material. I feel like I need to “get” it by the end of this weekend so I can move on. Now I'm nervous about what I have to look forward to with B3 🙁
My exam date is May 6th.

OJFWEroiuMemberMan, I've gotten to that point where if I haven't done enough to pass, how can anybody pass? Anybody know what I mean?
It's like a human can only know so much or study so much before they go mad.
I hope I pass this one because studying again would suck. It would probably be easier the 2nd time, but would still really suck.

AnonymousInactiveJust took the second Becker final test and did awful.Like 60% overall. I guess I have a lot of work to do before Tuesday, which is my test day…. Very disappointed. Ran short on time and stressed too much and starting rushing through the MCQs and then ended up having enough time to finish written section.
Any advice? I heard the Becker final tests are harder than the actual. Which was the case for REG and I didn't do well on either of the final tests but passed with an 84. I sure hope this is the case.
I am so burned out on studying. This is my last one. Sure hope I can pass this one and be done!

ColoradoCPAMemberCould please somebody o help me to understand this answer?
Assuming that the real rate of interest is the same in both countries, if country A has a higher nominal interest rate than country B, then the currency of country A will likely be selling at a
a. Forward discount relative to the currency of country B.
b. Spot discount relative to the currency of country B.
c. Forward premium relative to the currency of country B.
d. Spot premium relative to the currency of country B.
This answer is correct. If the real rates of interest are the same, the country with the higher nominal interest rate is expected to experience a higher rate of inflation. A higher rate of inflation is associated with a devaluing currency so the currency of the country with the higher nominal interest rate will likely be selling at a forward discount.
My thoughts:
Real Rate for country A = Real Rate for Country B
Nominal Rate for country A > Nominal Rate for Country B
Nominal Rate = Real Interest Rate – Inflation premium
example
1. 5% (real rate A) = 5% (real rate B)
4% (nom rate A) = 3% (nom rate B)
This is inflation. Devaluing currency in country A. Forward discount
2. 3% (real rate A) = 3% (real rate B)
4% (nom rate A) = 3% (nom rate B)
This is deflation. appreciating currency in country A. Forward Premium.
Please correct me if I am wrong in my example. My question is “How to understand what situation they are asking about 1 or 2 (from my example)? Both a and c answers would be correct for this question. How to choose the best answer?”.

Yeah my test is Monday and I just took becker exam final #2 today. Scores were about 70%, but kinda hurt the confidence. I'm just trying to do as many MCQs as I can.
Im hoping writing isn't too bad. I haven't spent that much time on it, but at this point MCQs are probably better.
Good luck to all!

Good to see I'm not alone. It's my last part too. My correct MCQ average is about what it was on the other exams when I passed. I can only hope it's enough because I can't seem to take much more.
The only positive thing I can think of is that we are not alone in our stress and burnout. The candidates that get passing grades are not super human geniuses that study 16 hours a day, every day for 12 weeks. Hopefully the ‘human' element of the exam will be enough to put us over the top.

AnonymousInactive@CPA Mike and @OJFWEroiu,
Thank you for your responses. I was doing really well on the progress tests. I guess I got overly confident. Yeah, I can't take much more studying but, trying to stay motivated for a few more days…. Took the morning off from studying to spend time with family and friends for Easter. Nice to take a break. Hoping this time away will increase my motivation.
Continuing to write-out the answers on the questions missed from Final Exam #2 to try and reason through why I missed the questions and try to grasp the concept. I plan on maybe reading or watching lectures in a few areas I feel weak in. Then, I will do another progress test later today and hope to boost my confidence which is down due to the bad grade. I do not plan on taking any tests the day before my exam. Just review notes, index cards and review answers to AICPA questions is my plan.
What is your plan CPA Mike and OJFWEroiu? I wish you the best of luck, CPA Mike, tomorrow! Fingers crossed we will pass this exam despite Final Exam #2 low grades!!! What are your plans after the exam? Do you have anything fun planned in the near future or are you jumping right in to REG? I have to go to work the next day but, I will be camping at the beach with my family for the weekend!

I guess I'm going to try to reread or skim through the textbook aka lecture notes, one chapter or module at a time, then do about 50 random MCQs from that module.
My plan was to redo all ones I got wrong until I got them right before this, but that just seem too difficult as I was getting a lot of those wrong again. It was just making me frustrated to the point to where I just quit doing 'em.
Took the past 2 days off. Feel a little better I guess (considering the circumstances :3). On a positive note, I'm feeling similar to the way I did before passing FAR & REG. So maybe that's a good sign. Perhaps you do too.

kts1010MemberTwo weeks left till my exam and am getting anxious. I am on my second time through and will start B6 tomorrow and than will start doing progress tests and workings on Becker Final Review. I plan to bang out the first Becker practice test this Saturday to hopefully gauge where I am at. Hopefully I can get my 75+ cause I would love to be done with this exam before Summer.
Good Luck everyone who starts testing this week!
