    Guess I’ll kick it off!

Scheduled to take BEC on 4/19. It’s my last test so I’m putting as much study time in as I can. If I pass I get promoted, if I don’t pass I don’t get promoted, so the pressure is on!!

Good luck to everyone taking BEC this quarter!

Just finished with going through Becker BEC1-6 and am now restarting with 3 weeks left to exam date. I was so close last time to being all done with this whole process I need to stay positive and give myself one more point on this exam so I can be done. Plan to go over all questions again in the next week and a half, than work on practice becker tests, becker final review, and keep on reading my NINJA notes.

Good Luck everyone keep going strong especially if you test early in the month of April.

BEC is killing me. I finished reading B1 and writing notes. I have been working on the questions (from operations management – cost measurement methods and techniques) and want to scream. It wasn't this bad the first couple of times that I studied this stuff back in 2011. It makes me miss studying for AUD. Guess I really don't like cost accounting. I DO like the economics stuff (supply and demand), which I will see soon, I hope. How's everyone else's studying going? I am using the 2012 Becker textbook (2011 for software).

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 88!!! DONE!!!!!!!!

    Guys,

I'm on BEC 5 (2011 Becker) and I see a lot of HW problems that go very detail in calculations i.e. for topics “Planning techniques.” Do these HW problems reflect closely with the actual exams? I asked because there is no way that I can spend only a minute or two answering these wordy and very detailed questions. I'm worried that I might run out of time to finish the exam

This is not really a reply to any of this…

I am taking BEC in a week for the 2nd time…I took it in December and I fail with a 73…I was so disgusted…I was 37 weeks pregnant. I saw that some else took it while pregnant [39 weeks] and got like an 84. I was so bombed out!

I am going in again…we will see.

    Here is my question:

Is anyone studying with the Becker final review 2012 or 2013? I got the book from someone without the answers to the questions…so I just need some help. WHO SO EVER WILL…

    Please help if possible. Thanks,

    YRemy

    FAR -[ 68, 74, 69] passed 4th time with a 75.

    BEC – [73, retake]

    @AnnaMay84

When I took the test last month time was not an issue. I didn't have super long questions like Becker throws at you but than again I got a 74 so I might not have been seeing the hardest questions.

    AUD - 08/20/12 - 82
    REG - 10/30/12 - 82
    FAR - 01/05/13 - 80
    BEC - 04/15/13 - 84

@AnnaMay84 – when I passed BEC the first time (and lost credit), time was definitely not an issue. I was extremely overwhelmed with how long a lot of the Becker questions were, but time was not an issue. I was comfortable the entire way through and even had time to review all 3 of my written communications. You will get calculation problems but most of them are pretty straight forward. Then it's offset by theory questions that might take 30 seconds.

Don't get to overwhelmed with having enough time. If you know all the topics, you will be fine.

    BEC - 77 (lost credit), 4/5/13
    AUD - 83
    REG - 77
    FAR - 73, 74, 80! One more to go!!

It's better to focus in Wiley or Becker in review stage ?

    @Fatma

I'm in the same boat as you. I have my test on April 1st, and I'm full into review mode. My plan is to get through entire Wiley Test Bank at least once and redo most of Becker MCQ's. I would focus on Becker more but that's my opinion. I use Wiley just to see if there is anything else I can pick up that Becker didn't cover. I like Becker more b/c it's easier to see what's right vs. wrong in the explanation below.

Wiley is good too though b/c of the progress tracker. That can help you ID what parts of Becker to go over in more detail.

Bottom Line though: Get as many MCQ's done as you can through either source. Both are worth it. Don't forget about Writing portion too though. Wouldn't spend any more than a day on it though. That's my plan.

Man, this cost accounting just blows my mind. It's one of the shorter chapters in Wiley but it's so thick.

I have been listening to Ninja audio at work…how is it that it takes me days to read through the notes? Just thinking out loud… I am hoping that the audio will seep into my subconscious and be my little friend during the exam 🙂

    Florida:
AUD: 73, 81! Thank you Lord!
BEC: 73, 77! Thank you Lord! and WTB
REG: 71, 82! Thank you Lord! and A71
FAR: 72, 78! Thank you God and my Mommy in Heaven!

During my time studying for REG, I developed extreme anxiety that manifested into painful tension headaches. Once I found out I passed, I kind of checked of studying – which caused me to have to push back my next exams by an entire month. I lost total confidence in myself while going over the 1st three sections of BEC with Becker (Corp Governance, Strategic Planning, Cost Acctng). I'm hoping someone out there has a few words of encouragement because I don't see how I pick myself back up from this in order to finish BEC.

    Thank you.

    - passed all 4 exams on my first try using Becker!

    Ethics: TBD
