    Guess I’ll kick it off!

Scheduled to take BEC on 4/19. It’s my last test so I’m putting as much study time in as I can. If I pass I get promoted, if I don’t pass I don’t get promoted, so the pressure is on!!

Good luck to everyone taking BEC this quarter!

How ironic that BEC was my first exam passed and now 2 years later, it will be my last. I was in cruise control the last week and a half studying for BEC while I was waiting for my FAR score. But now that I got my passing FAR score, it's time to kick it into gear for BEC! In just under 4 weeks, I could be done with these exams forever!! That is my motivate to keep pushing through.

Daylight savings is killing me. Yesterday I was fine being Sunday, but this Monday morning is a little more difficult than usual. Lots of coffee will be consumed today!

    BEC - 77 (lost credit), 4/5/13
    AUD - 83
    REG - 77
    FAR - 73, 74, 80! One more to go!!

I'm doing the B-1 MCQs now and prefer the calculations over the COSO “theory” questions for sure. I'm much better with calculations than theory-type questions, overall.

What are the worst chapters in BEC?

    F - 85 (11/2012)
    R - 87 (1/2013)
    A - 92 (2/2013)
    B - 90 (4/2013)

    DONE!

Hello all I am new to the group. Just got my result for BEC and I got a 69 . I plan on taking it in April. I just want to redo it and move on. I know I could have studied more so am not really surprised at my scores. I will be using the Becker book supplementing with the ninja notes and Wiley test bank. Need to kick this exam in the butt this time round.

    BEC - 69 (Feb)13 -7/20 85
    AUD - Dec-13 ( Failed), Feb-14
    FAR- TBD
    REG - TBD

Just finished up B-2's lecture. While individually the information didn't seem daunting, after I finished viewing it, I was thinking “what in the world did I just watch…”

It's been about 7 years since I graduated and I forgot just how much I hated operations and strategic management in college.

@RGlazier12 @Grunt117 : I think you should check this out. I am struggling with the activity based costing and traditional costing methods as well. This helped me out a bit – https://www.cliffsnotes.com/study_guide/Activity-Based-vs-Traditional-Costing.topicArticleId-21248,articleId-21226.html

Gives you a nice example on how to allocate costs, and comparing the two methods.

@Johnny – I'm studying for 6 weeks. Since this could be my last exam, I don't want to take anything for granted.

This IT stuff is so boring. It seems easy enough, but just really tedious. Anyone have suggestions for how to get through this chapter (other than copious amounts of RedBull)?

So are these written communications graded for accuracy of technical knowledge? I'm getting mixed answers between Becker and what people posted on here in the past. It seems like as long as you can write like an adult, do an intro/body/conclusion, refer to the topic in the memo and BS your way through, you'll be fine.

@what yeah thats what I took from it. I'm one of those using Becker though.

I really just don't understand how computerized grading works or how it would be accurate. I would feel much better if they were actually graded by a person. (For the written tasks)

whatamidoing & GreenMonkey – I really wouldn't stress about it. My understanding is that it just looks for grammar, structure, and key words in your response. I was ticked because one of mine asked me to discuss the pros and cons of something that wasn't a word. Every time I wrote it a red squiggly line came up under it like in Word when you misspell something. It's pretty safe to say it didn't affect my score. As long as you can write a decent memo and toss in some facts about whatever you're supposed to be talking about you'll be fine. The way they grade it is either way more sophisticated or way less sophisticated than we all think (and I'm leaning towards less).

@soxfan – Thanks for the clarification; that's pretty much what I expected, too.
