    Guess I’ll kick it off!

    Scheduled to take BEC on 4/19. It’s my last test so I’m putting as much study time in as I can. If I pass I get promoted, if I don’t pass I don’t get promoted, so the pressure is on!!

    Good luck to everyone taking BEC this quarter!

    Hahaha! I haven't done IT yet, but I am starting it tomorrow. I was actually quite pleased the lecture is only 3:12 instead of the usual BEC 4+ hours. To be honest, I sorta feel like a lot of this stuff in BEC is quite pointless for an aspiring accountant. I know its good to have a general understanding but these random as heck concepts are starting to throw me for a loop, B6 in particular. I go from learning about foreign exchange risk (which I completely despise and thought I was done with after completing FAR) to learning about how to be an effective project manager, it is just sooo random.

    @MintsRGood Hello!!! hahaha! Sheesh…

    Well, I gave myself a pep talk and I'm settling in at Starbucks right now. No days off, now to finish up B6, I started getting so tired towards the end of studying last night none of the info from was really sinking in working through the MCQ.

    Seriously, the whole idea behind what you need to learn for this exam is really not practice or realistic as far as how much of it you will actually apply in the real world. But what can you do with these things but roll with the punches….

    So1913 I couldn't agree more, but your right. Honestly its basically just weening out the weak links, the scammers, and an attempt to avoid scandals like the one with the KPMG partner (I see that's working out reaaaal well). No but seriously, think of how hard this is, how much time we put into it, and how many rewards and opportunities it will open up. Thats what gets me up in the morning at 6am to study. We are one among few.. and some of the concepts probably are irrelevant but they are “testable concepts” so they its a prime opportunity to create test questions on the material. IT is an exception to this, I still am scratching my head trying to figure out how me knowing how the hell to manage infrastructure is going to help but I suppose it might… but I doubt it 🙂

    anyone else experiencing some of the math based Becker MC questions being a bit complicated? Some have like 3 steps in order to solve the problem.

    I second Shamir's post. Oh and I do feel like some of the math ones are a bit more tricky than what you would see on the exam, I hope. Thinking back to other sections I know that some of the Becker MCQ math based problems (like for FAR) involved more steps but the questions on the test were more conceptual and knowing how to solve the steps allowed me to figure out the conceptual questions. I am not getting too hung up on the actual math as long as I know how things work… like with all the P/E ratio, PEG Ratio, IRR, etc..

    IT for me today. This could be rough.

    @Theo I agree, that's what I'm wrapping up now. I've been looking at B6 these past two evening study sessions after work and wrapping up this morning. I attempted the MCQ's after reviewing the initial notes I took maybe 2 weeks ago from the lecture and realized they meant nothing! I needed to go back and read the entire B6 section page by page to try to get a better handle. I hadn't felt the need to do that with any other sections. Just finished, it's a lot to swallow! Going to review flash cards and create a formula sheet and keep it moving…

    @so1913 Sounds like you're working it pretty well. Like you said, “just keep it moving”. I am here trying to do the same.
