    Guess I’ll kick it off!

Scheduled to take BEC on 4/19. It’s my last test so I’m putting as much study time in as I can. If I pass I get promoted, if I don’t pass I don’t get promoted, so the pressure is on!!

Good luck to everyone taking BEC this quarter!

@Ahmeds1 Glad we could motivate you. bcjasper09 and I have basically the same schedule. Funny enough @bcjasper09 I am doing the same thing with MCQs which I get incorrectly , but I have been getting upwards of 80% on all the MCQs. I have also skipped all the SIMS for now. I did a cost benefit analysis and I figured if I get to it then I'll do it otherwise, I'll just read the suggested solutions for reference. One area I will definitely need to revisit is that of Corporate Governance just to ensure that I retain as much as possible but so far everything else seems manageable.

Since none of my friends would understand the irony of this, I have to share. So I was just completing B6 on Foreign Currency Financial Risk Management and literally just completed the lecture when I got a notification on my phone from the WSJ about the value of the US dollar appreciating to the Yen. I instantly thought, well I hope you have a lot of A/P denominated in the Yen and no receivables. Okay.. end nerdy post.

my exam is coming in 2 weeks. So far, I have been through becker material for 2 times. I purchased Ninja notes and wiley test bank, but not touch them yet. I plan to review Ninja notes and do IT questions in wiley this weekend because I think for BEC becker alone might not enough. we will see this weekend if i like IT questions in wiley or not.

Well Jade- your ahead of me and our exams are on the same date! I am just finishing B6 and haven't done IT yet. I am only using Becker, but I anticipate that might not be enough, but at this point I don't have any extra time to work any other material in so that's what I'm going with. I am okay with failing, but I just wanted to take a crack at BEC before this window expires… However, I don't anticipate failing!

I have one week to make the magic happen…I have to be honest, I am TIRED!!! I envy those of you who were smart enough to take on this beast before entering into the workforce full time. Between commuting time and work time, you have to fit what you can within a limited window of free time. This non-stop “go” is grueling. To those of you who are working full time AND have a family tackling this monster, I salute you!!!

I'm debating myself today as I'm in my office trying to wrap up some things since I'll be off tomorrow….part of me (this little whinning voice) is telling me to take it a little easy tonight knowing that the next three days will be 10-12hrs+ a day of studying and that a good nights sleep will do me good. Just stay home and read and review notes in preperation of doing nonstop MCQ for the next week. Or maybe I should just put two hours of MCQ's and call it a night. BUT the other part of me is telling me I don't have time to cut back and have to take advantage of every free moment possible to study abecause next Friday will be here in a wink of an eye. I REALLY want to pass this so I can beat this clock I'm racing at this point to finish the rest of this exam.

    @bcjasper,

well, i hope becker is enough. i used becker only for other 3 sections and they went pretty well. but to be safe, i need to do some extra practice since people here say BEC questions are random and luck of the draw.

hope we both go well on 28th.

anyone here does Becker Final exam? I did both, first exam I got averge 80 on MCQ, second exam I got average 50. So i average both and get 65, then add 10 points since becker is always harder than the real one, I GET 75!!! perfect score!!!

    oh well, back to studying…

You guys are cracking me up! Well at least we can't say that what we're learning is completely useless. I haven't accomplished much today cause I just don't feel like it. We all know there are days like this. Which is why I would say, @so1913, if you feel up to it then put in some time tonight cause you never know. Now let me try to get back into those lectures.

Well one of my friends passed BEC using only Becker so that gives me some hope. I just finished B6 lecture, going to do a little review and than hit the “pass master.” If there is one thing I will miss about the studying (which is the only thing) it is Peter Olinto's accent and his sense of humor. New personal favorite- phone call from Snooki… I am still baffled at the pass rate for BEC given how much material there is. That is what is giving me hope, I also don't get how you hear of people who failed because “they didn't take it seriously” because I am probably taking this section the most serious! To be brutally honest I thought the last sections were easy compared to this crap.

Theo- keep pushing on. Its nice having someone who is on the same pace as me because it keeps me motivated to keep pushing on. Looks like IT tomorrow for me.

One last bit of humor (if you couldn't tell from previous posts, I'm a bit of a self proclaimed comic) but I swear to you if everyone of my friends on FB would just post these damn formulas we have to know as their statuses I would be a genius. I must have checked Facebook 4 times in the last hour. Burning out, my friends.

@bcjasper09 Well considering I haven't done anything much today, I will have to try for B6 tonight, so it's gonna be a late night for me. I want to have the whole day for IT tomorrow. I know what you mean about having someone on the same pace, it really helps. Thanks and let's get this thing done!

    Dear AICPA,

Perhaps you are confused on the career choices of those who are sitting for the BEC portion of the CPA exam. We do not want to be computer programmers, code writers, or database analysts. I assure you that we sincerely want to understand the technology implemented by our future clients, but if anyone needs to write code, install a server, network their suite, or create software applications they are NOT going to contact their CPA to perform these services. I'm 1000% sure they will call an IT SERVICES PROFESSIONAL for the above mentioned services. Please consider using common sense next time around on the IT topics we are tested upon because half of the material I just read has NOTHING to do with my career in public accounting.

    Sincerely,

MintsRGood, a candidate who is becoming highly annoyed with Wiley Module 41 MCQS 😉
