    Guess I’ll kick it off!

Scheduled to take BEC on 4/19. It’s my last test so I’m putting as much study time in as I can. If I pass I get promoted, if I don’t pass I don’t get promoted, so the pressure is on!!

Good luck to everyone taking BEC this quarter!

Theo…i agree with you! i started studying two days ago and my test is on 5/30. What's your plan to study for this section? how many hours a day? this is my first test so i am really nervous and i have been out of school for 5 years.

Well this is my last section, hopefully, but I have found it very difficult to stick to the plan. I should have been done with at leas two lectures this week. I was hoping to work ahead of schedule and leave more time for practice but it has been hard staying focused for this first lecture. I'm just gonna put it “as many hours as I can stand” everyday.

How's the BEC study group going? I take it on 5/13 for the 3rd time and hopefully it will be a charm. Pretty much just reviewing and doing MCQs. The IT section is always a crapshoot for me and not straightforward so at times am just guessing the answer and sometimes dont even understand the question.

@ClemsonATS: Refer to the CSO but I will say that everyone's exam is different. For mine that CSO meant nothing at all. After reading this thread I think everyone's experience is different.

My advice is to understand the concepts not just the formulas and calculation. I think that saved me on the exam.

Alright I need some advice. I just finished FAR today.. and am thinking about starting BEC and trying to take it this window still. Is this possible if I can put in 40+ hours a week?

@bcjasper09 I say anything is possible. I am just about to do the last 97 MCQ's from B1 and I still plan on sitting for the exam on May 30th, whatever it takes. Congrats on your REG pass. I see we'll be waiting for FAR together…how was it?

Theo- I should have taken your advice better about focusing more on IFRS but I think it went pretty well. Just as you noted also, it was heavily focused on few topics. My testlets defiantly got harder and the Sims were a piece of cake. Almost to the point where I thought they were kidding they were that easy… The MCQ's….. not so much. I am anxious to see how this one pans out. Is there a lot of overlap with BEC and any of the other sections like Reg with corporate governance and business structure?

From what I can tell BEC seems to be the Managerial Accounting paper. It also includes IT, Economics and Corporate Governance. I did not notice any overlap in the governance covered in B1 and REG and I do believe that the business structure area is covered only in REG.

Sounds like your FAR was similar to mine. I have put it out of my mind until results day though.

Anyone know how i can print homework on beckers for BEC? I am working on them on the software but i have a 11 month old running around and everytime he sees me working on the laptop he comes and starts banging on the screen! i do study 4-5 hours when he is sleeping or when my husband is home but i want to just print out the questions so i look at it throughout the day without actually being on the laptop. Its letting me print out each question individually but not all of them together. Its going to be such a pain printing 200 questions per chapter one by one

Theo- It was bizarre. I felt like the topic was one that wasn't covered much at all in Becker either. Sort of frustrating but yes, like you said I just have to put it out of my mind until scores are released. I am starting BEC today. I remember a section in Becker where good ol' Peter mentioned something about there being overlap but I could be wrong.

@ahmeds, i would use microsoft onenote.. Use this as your default printer, so whenever you hit the print button, you are able to compile all the pages you want printed, save as pdf, then send all at once to your printer
