jeffKeymasterGuess I’ll kick it off!
Scheduled to take BEC on 4/19. It’s my last test so I’m putting as much study time in as I can. If I pass I get promoted, if I don’t pass I don’t get promoted, so the pressure is on!!
Good luck to everyone taking BEC this quarter!

AnonymousInactiveFatma,
Net Present Value(NPV) = (Present Value of Future Cash Flow) – (Required Investment)
Since they don't provide you with a Present Value table, you'll need to create your own using the following formula:
1/(1+i)^n = Present Value of $1. “i” = Interest Rate and “n” = # of Periods
In order to get the Present Value of an Ordinary Annuity of $1, you simply add the values from the Present Value of $1 table that you just created:
[1/(1+.1)^1] + [1/(1+.1)^2]…+[1/(1+.1)^5)] = 3.790
$3,000 x 3.790 = $11,370 = Present Value of Future Cash Flows
$11,370 – $11,000(aka Required Investment) = $370

KnightsCPAMemberExam is on Thursday… Took the Wiley Practice exam and got 88% right on the MCQs so hoping that is a good sign. Just gonna read notes, formulas, do MCQs, and read over some written communications today. Then do some light reading/MCQs tomorrow and hope for the best.
So nervous!! Praying this is my last one!

Shanta_JMemberHi Everyone, just took Audit Tuesday… now I'm starting with BEC. My exam is on May 29th. I'm giving myself 6 weeks to prepare. Anyone else studying for this amount of time?

MintsRGoodParticipant@Shanta_J We have parallel CPA exam lives right now!!! Audit yesterday and BEC on 5/31 for me and frankly I'm ready to studying anything else besides auditing!!! How did your exam go yesterday?
@Casey glad to see you in the BEC study group! At least we are out of the audit swamp for a few weeks! 🙂
I hope that 6 weeks of prep will be enough to get the job done, especially since tax season (thank goodness) is over and I don't have to work Saturday and Sunday anymore! This week I'm going to get all of my materials organized, put Ninja notes and audio on my devices (iphone, ipad, work computer, etc.), and make a study plan that I can implement ASAP!
For those of you that have taken Auditing and moved on to BEC, are the IT components similar?
Good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

whatamidoingMemberRoach – It costs $260 from Becker. They send you a summarized version of the main book, hitting on the main points of each lecture. There's also a supplemental lecture for the book that usually run about 30-45 minutes per chapter. They have a few additional MCQs and Simulations (or the written communications for BEC). For REG, it really helped bring it all into perspective for me. Hoping it does the same for BEC. I'm so behind in my review.

Shanta_JMember@MintsRGood… honestly, I was expecting it to be horrible but it really wasn't -_-… I don't know if I missed something though. I felt like Becker prepared me beyond measures. Multiple choice took me about 2 hours so I spent the other 2 on sims, and got to use the AL to help me out on one…. I am honestly curious to see this grade… I hear a lot of people say they felt like the did wonderful on audit and ended up failing… but I made sure I went back and reread each question and my answer… so we shall see… I know I prayed about it before I went in, so hopefully I get a passing score… looking forward to seeing it.
But on to BEC 🙁 I'm not a fan of cost accounting so I will be putting in a lot of hours for this one. Going to get through chapter 2 by the end of the weekend. I can already tell that I will be making quite a few flash cards so that I memorize/understand formulas!
