Guess I’ll kick it off!

Scheduled to take BEC on 4/19. It’s my last test so I’m putting as much study time in as I can. If I pass I get promoted, if I don’t pass I don’t get promoted, so the pressure is on!!

I am a Canadian taking on the CPA exam. While I majored in accounting at a Canadian Uni, we primarily focused on the new IFRS standards. I believe this could hinder my CPA passing rate. I decided to take the BEC exam first, because it seems to be very broad. I wrote the exam yesterday. I had a ton of Managerial accounting calculations to compute (__________________). Those questions blew me away, and took an educational guess on all of them. Testlet 1: med/hard. Testlet 2: Hard. Testlet 3: medium/hard. If I failed, when I retake the test I hope there are little or no managerial accounting questions, because they piss me off haha. Anyone else get a ton of those questions?

I'm starting to study for BEC tonight. Will be my third attempt. It's been almost a year since I took it. I am definitely going to take my time studying and take it at the end of the testing window.

Taking BEC on April Fools Day! BEC seems so far like you just have to step back and look logically at it. That has helped me in Becker so far.

Taking BEC 4/1. After slugging through B1-B3; I was very happy (and actually interested) in the IT and Economics stuff. The goal is to the finish up B6 by next week and give myself three weeks to cement B1-B3 into my head.

I just don't understand why Becker wants me to do three written simulations PER SECTION. Thanks, but no thanks. HAHA.

Hi Everyone,

Planning to take BEC on 4/6. I completed B1 and I just got started on B2. My goal is to get through all the lectures, the book and at least do around 90 MCQs for each section by 3/23. Then hopefully I'll have 2 weeks to just practice MCQs and the WC.

I am using Becker, Wiley and I had gotten Gleim a while back for BEC alone.

I'm taking BEC on 4/17. I gave myself 10 days off after REG so will start studying again on the 11th. I haven't even peeked at the BEC book yet, so it'll all be a big surprise to me. 🙂

I am getting ANGRY at this BEC material. The calculations are killing the crap out of me! To the people who have taken BEC at least once, do you think Becker does a good job at preparing for the exam? My Wiley expired and from my previous exam experience (FAR,REG,AUD), I found that Becker MCQs were very similar to the ones that are on the actual one and didn't need to go through Wiley MCQs. But with BEC, I don't know if it is the same case. Any thoughts on this?

Also, what helps you out to remember all the formulas?
