So I just finished all of the homework for BEC lecture 1 in Becker. It took me FOREVER! The cost accounting stuff is so time consuming and it feels as though this material is all out of left field. I’m sure I will get it by Sunday (my cut off, since I start a new chapter every Monday), but it feels very difficult. It’s kind of FAR-esque, except with cost accounting instead of financial.

Any helpful words of advice on how to prepare to pass BEC? I have Becker and I also have the Wiley online test bank (thanks to one of Jeff’s giveaways). It’s just rough–I’ve been up much later at night than I anticipated this week because the material (particularly the section with 102 MC questions) is so time consuming.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially in regards to ancillary material and which topics are most crucial in the overall realm of BEC.

I am working my way through said 102 questions. I think you should be OK, just take handwritten notes and understand how to do the MC questions. The good news is that there are no supplemental questions for B-1 and the SIMS/written parts are pretty easy for B-1.

Chapters 1,3 and 5 deal with more math and equations then chapters 2 and 4. I spent a lot of time doing the MCQ for those chapter but I breezed through 2 and 4, so don't be discouraged. Also, what you learn in chapter 1 from Becker is a great overview for a lot of the material discussed in the later chapters.
