BEC strategy – unprepared/taking anyway

I’m not ready for this exam, however it’s scheduled and I will take it regardless. Any tips on what to do between now and Wed? Soo overwhelmed with all of the calculation questions, and it seems from other posts that the exam is completely random.

I would probably review variances, COSO, and Break Even and WIP/Finished Goods calculations. For the writing section, repeat the requirement in the body of your essay, and BS your way to the end, if you don't know the topic. At least 3 paragraphs.

Do at least 200 MCQ per day, or at least read the answer explanations.

Good luck! And come back to tell us how it was. I have mine on 5/31.

What about EUP's? I'm having the worst time with those formulas.

@apbandij, I HATED EUP's. I'm not sure what type of review you are using but I'm using Wiley testbank and it seemed like those questions were the worst, so confusing. I was able to get my hands on some Becker MCQs for EUPs and it made so much more sense. I'd be willing to share them with you if you give me your email address.

@EEL – that would be awesome! I've memorized the formulas but am having such a hard time applying them. I'm using Yaeger w/ Wiley book and testbank. My e-mail is my username at gmail. Thanks a million!

@lmp – Equivalent units of production (FIFO and Weighted-Average). It's used to allocate manufacturing costs between COGM and Ending WIP for process costing.

oh yes. I do know that. Thanks for the clarification! (at least I think I remember the formula!) LOL…my brain is fried!

I have a spreadsheet for equivalent units and some related items if anyone wants it (use at your own risk). These actually make sense to me. Becker is not too good on coso. I'm so nervous I'm having a hard time studying.

@apbandj, just sent an email. Hope this helps!

@Tina, I'm pretty nervous too. IMO, Wiley is pretty weak in COSO as well. I wonder if Becker COSO + Wiley COSO = a winning combination? Have you supplemented with any other resources for COSO?

You can go to the coso website. Most of their stuff is not downloadable for free, but there is a free download on ERM and some other items (mostly industry reports etc., not very useful). I've done some Wiley questions only (corp governance and it). Can you point to wiley sections with coso in it? Not sure if it's all in one. Becker has it kind of scattered if I understood correctly.

I'm not sure if I'm answering your question but the COSO section is in the Corp Governance for Wiley Testbank

Yes, I've been through that one. Thought there might be some other coso related items in the other subsections in the testbank. Thanks.

Also, this might be a stupid question, but are you using the text links in wiley test bank? There's a lot more info in there than required for questions.
