    Hello Everyone,

I am currently studying the BEC, and am scheduled to take it on 1/06/14. I have completed one and a half chapters of Becker, and am not flying through the homework problems or getting nearly as many as I would like right. I have talked to a couple people at my firm, and some are recommending I try to finish it in December now that the first week is open. I was wondering if someone could recommend whether studying over such a prolonged period of time and taking it in Jan may hurt my chances? I am not a great learner while cramming, and feel like I will be very busy with work the next few weeks. How often is a typical BEC study period?

Based on my experience (I took two months to study for BEC the first time, took it in April 2013, got a 68) I am shortening up my studying time. I started this week to study , scheduled to take exam Dec 2nd. I think that when you start too soon, you risk burnout, do not use your time efficiently . The first couple of weeks I am re-familiarizing myself with material by watching the ninja videos, listening to audio, working the flashcards, then I will get into the mcq with Wiley test bank and rewriting notes. As I go along I plan on picking up the intensity .

Jfrench: If I were you I would keep your January date. I plan a long time to study my tests because I love to continuously go over the topics and feeling more confident when the test arrives. I just took my BEC exam today and I urge you to buy the WILEY Test bank. Their practice problems helped me SO much. I also used Roger CPA review which was helpful as well. But that test bank is worth the money and you'll definitely see similar problems on your exam.
