The reason there is less material on BEC is because its hard to retain.

I am so freaked out about failing again, that now I am over studying.

I have spent 30 hours on econ which is way overkill. Just scared of BEC.

I still say reg and aud are easier than bec.

    Reg 11/15/2011 - 80
    Aud 02/28/2012 - 81
    Bec 05/31/2012 - 78
Far 08/31/2012 - 83 Do you believe in Miracles, YES !!!

I wish I had your problem. I breezed through BEC and am ready to jump off a bridge because of REG

    BEC- 80
    REG- 68, 71, July
    AUD- 61 , 84
    FAR- -- 75 🙂

I find it so demoralizing when people say REG is easier than BEC. You have no idea what I went through to finally pass REG. It was an awful experience and I hate to look back at all the pain and agony I had to go through. It makes me feel like a complete idiot that I had to go through so much just to pass that “easy” part.

Anyways, I'm not sure what you guys are finding so difficult about BEC. I think you guys are just freaking out. You will all pass it. You're just stressing over nothing. Relax.

Everyone has their own idea of what is hard and what is not. For example, everyone I talked to describes audit as “a joke” compared to the other ones but then you see people who fail audit multiple times and pass FAR the first time. Many people consider FAR the easiest. All personal preferences.

@Entourage – I agree 100%!!! I really struggled with Audit and BEC, took both exams at least 7 times each, but orginally passed REG on my first try and FAR on my 3rd.

    I vote for BEC.

It has so many subtopics and ratios to remember. Had to read the book a few times to understand the materials, IT didnt make sense at all. Now i am worried about the writing section…

Well, for those that say BEC is a breeze I will have my piece. I passed Audit, REG, and FAR in two testing windows in a short period of time. I have now failed BEC 3 times and will be taking it for the fourth time in a few weeks. I have studied more for BEC now that I have studied for the other 3 combined. I have changed study strategies, done repeated problems, etc. and I have not been able to pass this F-in section. I have gone 74, 73, 74. I really think someone that is grading this thing is someone I picked on in high school or something. I passed the other three sections of the test with my low scoring being an 84. I absolutely can't comprehend how I am not passing this section of the exam. That is all from me, but I am bent out of shape with this test. I am exhausted from working long hours all the time and studying for this damn thing. I am not a happy camper since BEC came along and ruined my life.

to those that are having a hard time with BEC…

my best peice of advice is, do not fall prey to pitfalls. There are many instances where you do the problem incorrectly thinking you're on the right track and you end up with an answer that happens to be one of the choices. This is a problem with many of the other sections as well but its prevalent in BEC.

    BEC- 80
    REG- 68, 71, July
    AUD- 61 , 84
    FAR- -- 75 🙂

@CashEquivalents sorry I am just fed up with BEC. I knew that I was going to have a tough time with this test over a year before I even thought about taking the CPA exam. I made A's in all of my accounting classes in college without missing a beat. I made a C in cost accounting and was lucky to make that. I do not know what it is, but my brain is not capable of doing cost. It almost cost me my chance with the Big 4. I told the people who assigned me to my clients when I started work not to put me on manufacturing clients. I don't know what it is.
