I liked intermediate accounting, didnt mind tax, law, and all the other classes.. But someone who knew me very well decided to slap every subject I ever hated into one exam and called it BEC.

I don’t think I can do this for my exam on the 31st of this month. I think I might have to push it back. I study maybe 5-7 hours a day. But the way its going, I get almost every question wrong and have to learn it that way.

What should I do? Push my exam back, and move AUD until end of Nov? I honestly am so discouraged. Id rather study the other 3 topics then this crap.

Any advice is always appreciated. I just feel so discouraged…

I've said this before but I think it is appropriate here as well:

BEC is the work of the devil with a little help from Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein when they were alive, plus a little umph of Real Kill Insect Killer!!!

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

Haha thats funny…. I'd rather study REG then BEC any day.

If there is one exam that will hold me back, it will be BEC.. I like intermediate, and auditing wasn't too bad…. just didnt like it in college… but BEC.. It is the devils work!

Damn, I'm currently studying REG and it's rocking my sh1t. Wish I was taking BEC instead. At least I can just memorize formulas for that one LOL

@CashMoney10 – Tax was my fav in college, so I thought REG wasn't too bad when I was studying for it.. The exam, however, was a whole different story… I am still shocked how I did well… I did the damn exam in 1.25 – 1.5 hours… I was ready to jump out the building….

As far as BEC.. IT, COSO, Econ, Finance all easy… COST…. the devils language!!!!!

REG: PASS || BEC: PASS || AUD: PASS || F: SCORE PENDING..

I cannot believe you posted this given that you have already studied for REG. BEC was a breeze, studying and testing compared to REG.

    Hate REG.

ooh i want to join in the BEC bashing party 🙂 my BEC is Aug 24. for some reason i'm having trouble with the IT portion…

@futuremd, i heard that the wiley book does a better job covering BEC topics than becker does, so maybe doing and re-doing all the wiley MCQs will help? i read through the becker book and did their MCQs, but i feel like after reading through wiley and doing the MCQs in the book, the concepts stuck more. good luck with your studying!

I haven't seen Becker but Wiley does a great job on the BEC, it is all I used.

They have a visual chart for the variances that takes seconds to memorize and once you have it, you have it.

Does anyone know in terms of an estimate if cost accounting/computational questions are a large part of the BEC exam from Becker chapters 1-3? If it is, I'm in a bit of trouble…

It all depends on the test really. Some tests are very theoretical without many computational questions while others are the exact opposite. That being said, if you're having problems with all of B1-B3, you might be in trouble…

I sure hope not, if it does stump me bc of too many computational questions, I can always take it again until I get an exam thats more theory. Anyways, I am understanding Chapter 1 much more now (formula memorization) and Chapter 3 Im literally doing right now and it doesnt look bad so far. The main problem area is mainly Chapter 2.

You got a great score on REG. BEC should not be too bad in comparison, simply by looking at the amount of information… I would recomend knowing budgeting pretty well as I remember getting alot of those questions on the test.

I seriously think that studying 7 hours a day till the end of the month should be plenty. Don't push it back.

    FAR - 85 November 2011
    AUD - 81 January 2012
    REG - 68 March 2012
    BEC - 86 April 2012
    REG - 92 July 2012
