I’m taking AUD this Thursday and then BEC on the 31st. I won’t be able to begin studying for BEC until next Monday which will leave me with 18 days. I’ll be able to study full-time and I’m using Becker. For those of you who have taken BEC, how do you recommend I tackle this?

Wow @gobias, that is intense, 18 days. I hope you are studying full-time and do not have to work all day.

The written section is basically common sense English writing skills. I didn't spend any time on this but I send emails and memos all day at work so that was my practice.

B1, B2, and B3 were the toughest sections which took the most study time for me, by far. The others are fairly straightforward and I didn't see as many questions. The ninja notes were helpful, as well as the ninja audio.

Yeah it's ambitious, but I don't have a choice. It seems like there are fewer MCQs than the other sections, but all the videos are closer to 4 hours than 3 (what's up with that?).

I'm going to try to get through 1 chapter every 2 days and then reread all the chapters/redo all the MCQs during the last 6 days for review.

Hopefully it will be enough. If anyone has tips they'd like to share, please do.

    1. Day 1 – Complete B1 Lecture & review/skim over as much as you can

    2. Day 2 – 150-200 B1 MCQs

    3. Repeat for rest of sections

    4. Remaining 6 days review textbook, notes, do more MCQs, look over some WC examples.

    5. ????

    6. Profit?

It's definitely possible. Even if you don't pass, I'd still schedule an exam. Why waste a window? The next attempt will be easier. But I still like to give myself more time. 45 days per test or 2 sections per window. Good luck.

I would have preferred to have the entire month, but I didn't feel like I would be ready for AUD on the 3rd so I moved it back to the 9th.

I think I can do this as long as I am very disciplined.

You can do this! Embrace the hermit life style and you can knock them both out this month! I will be looking forward to seeing you pass and be done! 🙂

Do-able for sure – don't worry about the sims. I reviewed the sims the day before the exam just to get an understanding of how to structure my responses. Make sure you know how to do the accounting first and then review the rest.

    Thanks for the encouragement!

@atothez thanks for the advice. I've been skipping practice sims on the other tests so I'll probably just read/watch what becker has to say about the WC and leave it at that.

@gobias – I did not do a single practice SIM for BEC. I just read about what is expected and went from there. You got this!

@Gobias I'm doing BEC in 25 days (started yesterday, taking 05/31/13) and this is my game plan: I will read each chapter and do the MCQ's, take notes and do flash cards for mnemonics, formulas and “pass keyes” (I'm using Becker, btw) I plan on spending 2 weeks doing this for all 6 chapters. Then, on my third week, I will watch all the lectures and do all the MCQ's that I didn't get right the first time, I will also look at the simmulations, I will not do them, I will only look at the right way to do them and what they're expecting from me. I plan on doing this for one week, then on my last 5 days, I will take one day to watch all the letures and do all the hw on the Final Review Material and do the first final exam, I will then spend 2 days knocking MCQ (as many as I'm able to do) then, on the day before the exam, I will do the final exam. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Gobia- I am in the same boat. I started Saturday and I might have to take it closer to the 28th. I also plan on taking finals and graduating from college sometime in between there. I am finding that B1-B3 is quite difficult (more than anticipated) but I am still going to take it this window, if you fail, NBD just take it next time. Coming off of Aud B1 will be a sinch because its a ton of Internal Control stuff and COSO framework.
