BEC Formulas That You Used That Helped You Pass

Hi Everyone. I’m reviewing chapters 1-3 in Becker (cost accounting, variances, etc). Quick question for those taking BEC or that have passed BEC, what formulas did you use/remember that helped you pass? I know some of you have different ways of figuring out the calculation problems (the way becker explains equivalent units is a little confusing, but someone on here posted a very easy formula that was an alternate way of calculating this). What formulas did you use that you considered important that helped you pass BEC?

89 views and no replies? Lol, I know about the PURE DADS DADS mnemonic, a shortcut for equivalent units, BASE, but is there anything else you found helpful in understanding conceptual problems/important formulas used you found helpful on exam day?

I would just say know them all. I think the reason you may have zero replies would be the fact that we are not supposed to disclose exactly what we used/saw on the tests.

I take the exam tomorrow and plan on knowing most of them, if not, educated guessing it is!

    FAR - 84
    AUD - 94
    REG - 86
    BEC - 86

I know we can't disclose what we saw on the tests but what I really meant by asking is if anyone knows which formulas they felt were important and any ways of memorizing them easier than what Becker presents. For example cost of good manufactured is direct materials used + direct labor + applied o/h + beginning WIP -‘ending WIP. Just formulas that you guys included on your master formula sheet that you felt were helpful

Well, I haven't taken the test yet so there's no way I can disclose anything. However, a couple that I feel are important from Becker and that I'm going to make sure to remember are:

    Contribution Margin= Sales- Variable Costs

Break Even Point= Fixed Costs/ Contribution Margin

Know them all. Know your variances just in case. Those were difficult for me for some reason. I hate cost accounting.
