How much should I stress on memorizing the BEC formulas besides variances, WAAC, CAPM, elasticity? I completely suck at the Econ and performance measures formulas, but if they’re not that major then I’m not going to kill myself over it and spend more time on for sure topics like COSO and IT

Unfortunately, you have to memorize these formulas, especially for variances.

you have to, if you are finding it hard to to practice questions as much as you can

The first time I took this section, I greatly underestimated the formulas. I did not have them memorized and figured it would be fine…wrong! I counted something like 2/3 of my questions had formulas during my first round on this.

I agree with Kakkooakki – if you are having problems memorizing them, answer questions. That is what helped me. Search the forum, also – there is a great list of formulas floating around in a thread here. I carried it around with me the entire time I was studying, and would look over it when I had time. For variances, there is a helpful mnemonic floating around that saved me – PURE DADS.

    Best of luck!
