for anyone who has taken BEC recently, What would you say is the percentage of questions that are formula questions?? there are so many formulas to memorize, and also need to memorize when to use which formula…seems very difficult. are there a lot of these intense questions or more theory type questions on the exam?

    thanks

    AUD - 2/27/12 - 76
    REG - 5/31/12 - 78
    BEC - 8/31/12 - 77
    FAR - 12/6/12 - 76

I had 5.5 weeks to prepare for BEC and at first I thought there was no way in hell I would memorize all those formulas. The formulas are not complicated at all. Most of the them are common sense and your review program should provide some tricks as well. Know as many as possible. You just never know what you'll get on your exam. I had a bunch-like 10 (not difficult) questions that had to do with formulas.

so if you had about 10 formula type questions, how about the other 62? i know IT is heavily tested…which other area did they really hit a lot?

thanks for the help..and advice..i really need to be done with these tests.!!

    AUD - 2/27/12 - 76
    REG - 5/31/12 - 78
    BEC - 8/31/12 - 77
    FAR - 12/6/12 - 76

I think we all need to be done with these tests..lol…I really think I got hit with every single topic with exception of economics-maybe 1 or 2…We all know that Cost Accounting, COSO (a nightmare), IT, and Financial Management are the big topics for BEC. I would say know your cost of capital stuff, you variances (really easy if you use T-accounts instead of the formulas), and your COSO…I would also recommend practicing a few SIMS..

@cpaterminator, did you think BEC was pretty easy compared to FAR?

    FAR 4/9/12- PASSED
    BEC 7/13/12- PASSED
    AUD 8/16/12- Ughhh 71, Rematch: 90!!!
    REG-12/6/12 PASSED

    USC MAcc- Fight on!

They say good things come to those who wait, but only those things that are left by those who hustle.

@mgoloubenko…Not at all…I left the testing center feeling completely defeated both times..lol…BEC is much easier to study though…..I got a much lower score (79) than FAR (95), but then I was sick as a dog when I took BEC…Study for BEC just as you did for FAR….
