MC’s killed me… but here it goes:

MC1: 75%

MC2: 62%

MC3: 71%

I’ve heard that you usually score 5-15 points higher on the real exam vs. Becker, but I doubt that after scoring higher on beckers REG 1 & 2 final exams, and going in and taking the test.. I have my doubts. ( I get my score on Mondayish)

I noticed I got a few wrong in the following topics, which I am going to focus on. (IT & COSO) .. Yes I know two major topics. I also was a bit weak on cost with the variances..

Any feedback/advice on my score and upcoming exam?

You should be okay. Definitely go over COSO again. The writing should bump your scores up quite a bit. I scored around the same on both Practice Exam 1 and actual exam, but scored about 10 points higher than Practice 2. Good luck! I am taking REG at the end of this month…your prediction is 47?? Was it really that bad? Any advice?

By the way, I will say I was actually surprised I did not score a bit higher on the actual exam, being what everyone says about the Becker Practice Exams. I do think it was the writing which brought me down, honestly. I got two topics that I was unsure of, one of those I knew completely nothing about. It was my first exam and both those topics were not BEC related (more along the lines of FAR). I guess the moral of the story is #1, if you get topics you're familiar with, you should really be able to counteract some mistakes in MCQ, and #2, even if you don't get good WCs, you can still more than pass 🙂

Thank you for your reply! I have 3 full days after today to pound out MCQ's. I am going to do COSO/IT/Econ MCQ's once again, as well as do small practice quizes for the cost accounting/finance.

I feel like I really bombed REG, and Im not just saying that. I guessed on 3 SIM's. The SIMS were not that bad… I was just not expecting a full 2 SIMS on the same topic that Becker spent 20 minutes on. I guess you really need to know your stuff for tax. Anything is fair game. If you did the MCQ's, and truly understand the majority of them, you should be fine… I realized my exam was at 8am (I have to wake up at 6:30am) around 4am that same morning. I thought my exam was at 2pm!! I usually have diff. sleep times, and I am usually fine. I don't blame Becker, infact I think Becker did a GREAT job preparing me for the exam. The exam wasn't that bad. I was just so jittery from crushing a large redbull to try and stay awake 10 minutes before, and fighting off the constant drowsiness that I rushed through the questions. I accepted that I will have to retake it, and I am okay with that. I am thinking as soon as busy season is over, I would be a bit wiser in tax and be able to understand the SIM's a bit more 🙂

I didn't mind REG. But BEC.. this is a whole different story. I hate cost. I did read somewhere though that someone said BEC was not anything like Practice Exam #2 for Becker.. Think they said it was much less calc, and they where simple, but heavy on concepts… do you think this is the case?

I got a 77 on the BEC practice exam 1, and an 87 on the actual. You are likely to score 10 points higher but definitely work on those weak points and practice the WCs since they are easy points!

FAR 4/9/12- PASSED
BEC 7/13/12- PASSED
AUD 8/16/12- Ughhh 71, Rematch: 90!!!
REG-12/6/12 PASSED

For the next 3 days, Im going to be incorporating Beckers Practice Tests, as well as focus on IT/Econ & COSO. As well as try to work in Wileys conceptual questions from time to time.

Im going to take the second exam 1-2 days before the exam. Thanks for the feedback!

I got an 84 on practice exam 1, and an 74 on practice exam 2. I got an 89 on the real thing. You'll be fine! The writing score will probably push your score up as long as you follow the guidelines in Becker. I found BEC to be my easiest exam by far, and my hardest was definitely REG!
