I will take BEC exam next week in the new format after getting 73 on march.
My previous exam was full of IT questions that is not covered in Becker book. I purchased ninja notes to supplement in that area , but it is the same content in becker.
Any tips for the new format differences would be helpful.
And when is the free 15 mins break, is it after first sims?

I took it last week after getting a 71 in January and I feel like Becker prepared me for everything but the IT questions, especially in their new book. If you have the older version of the book, look through the appendix with the IT terms. That might help but won't prepare you for everything they give you.
During the exam I felt very frustrated and ran the clock until the last second however after I got home and really thought about it, I felt better about it. I felt like this exam was more conceptual rather than formula-based. There were still some ratios to calculate but nothing was too difficult on that side.
Make sure you read the entire question! Every single word. One answer could look right if you don't notice one key word in the question.
The sims weren't as bad as I imagined. From my experience they were a mix of math and conceptual questions (if x would happen, then how would y be affected?). You do get the authoritative literature, but they did nothing for me with my sims.

The 15 minute break is after you complete the first testlet of sims.
For the 3 days before my test, I read every word of the book, wrote my own notes, and made sure I understood the concept before moving on. The only mcq I did were the 15-20 throughout each chapter to make sure I was grasping the material. For me, that worked better since I was afraid if I did 200+ mcq per day, I'd just memorize the answers. By exam day, there were a few questions that I'd have gotten wrong if I didn't read the book. Reading the book definitely helped me with my essay questions too.

Good luck! If you come across the crazy IT questions, don't let it get to you and just hope they're part of the 12 pretest mcq and keep on truckin'.

I'm in the same boat as you guys, got a 69 on BEC in March, retaking this Friday. My approach to the IT section is to do my best to go through the material but don't stress too much about it. I'm trying to go in being stronger in all other areas because memorization is not my strong suit which is basically all IT really is. I feel like a good number of IT MCQs are common sense, but an IT sim with drop down menus could be a nightmare. Let's hope for the best.

when i took BEC i remember leaving thinking “holy hell where did all those random IT questions come from.” Got my score and realized that most of them were likely pre-test questions, since I am pretty certain i didn't do too hot on most of the random IT questions.

I concur with the opinion above…don't stress the IT stuff too much.
