I ended up with 86/137 on B3 supplemental questions after starting 66/90. That means I got 20/47 on the last 47. Ouch.

Warning: The last 45-50 are terrible.

I read the explanations and they still don't make much sense. Oh well. I guess I'll give them another try and see if the explanations make sense the second time.

Oh man… I gave up after 50 supplementals last night and went to bed 🙁 I'm a bit behind in my study schedule (aren't I always?) but I'm still feeling somewhat okay about Friday. We'll see how I feel on Wednesday, I may have to reschedule (I sure hope not!)

Getting ready to pack up for the library today. The grad-room (a.k.a cubicle) rental director laughed when he saw me last night and asked if he'd “see me in the morning”. I think he's getting sick of me 😉

“Yes sir you will be seeing me in the morning!”

So now I HAVE to gooooooooooo 😀

I am at work so I can't study here, plus tonight is the Bears vs. Packers game, so I won't get much studying done today at all.

Oh well…test isn't for another month.

With work being busy and having to make deadlines here, I can't really reschedule anything so I always give myself more than enough time. Two out of the four weeks each month at work I have to be here for month-end (I'm in corp accounting).

I don't need until 10/26 but I feel it's better than having it too early and screwing myself over.

Indeed! And with scores like yours, you obviously know what you're doing so I'd stick to your method 😉

I'm freaking out about BEC too…I'm supposed to take it a week from today, but I am seriously considering rescheduling. I took Becker's Final Exam 1 this weekend, got a 75. I forgot some of the formulas that I should know by now. I haven't done the supplemental questions for Ch. 3 or 5 yet…doing those this week.

    AUD 07/13/10 75!

    BEC 10/04/10 82!
    FAR 11/22/10 79! I'm Done!

@texas – don't freak out yet! I'm scheduled for 8am Friday morning so I feel your pain, just devote some major chunks of time the next few days and see how you feel. You still have a full 7 days! You only need a 75 so if you're getting a 75 on the final review that actually sounds pretty good. People have usually been scoring higher on the actual exam than the practice final, at least from what I've heard (and this has always been the case for me as well).

Can someone please explain the answer explanation in this question:

Okay so it gives the FORMULA… cool… Im with ya there… and then it changes the 1 in the formula to the interest payment when it actually shows you how to calculate out the formula. Since when does 1 equal an interest payment? Is that 1 always equal to the interest payment? Is the 1 a typo and it's actually supposed to be a capital i? I'm confused… so confused…

    That might be a typo for the capital i ( I )

    Florida_Candidate,

Forget that nightmare formula and crappy explanation. I go with Peter Olinto's way: Interest / Net proceeds.

    Interest: $15,000,000 x 0.08 stated rate = $1,200,000

    Net proceeds: $15,000,000 x 1.01 * 0.98 = $14,847,000

(the 1.01 is because they were issued at 101, the 0.98 is because 2% were flotation costs )

    $1,200,000 / $14,847,000 = 8.08%

    Hope that helps ya out.

“This term is not covered anywhere in the Becker materials, but the question can almost be answered entirely by using common sense. “

Wow.. that's kinda a bitchy answer explanation… and makes me feel a little stupid since I DIDN'T know it.

Haha, I've seen two or three explanations like that in Becker so far, but that is the worst one. I remember that question from one day last week. I also got it wrong.
