2010PleaseParticipantAhhh, a similar statement is to be found at the end of Class Notes for B3 as well…hope floats.
I'm going back to studying now after a short break (think I'll end up taking a vacation day this week too, preparing for 10/4).
I'll check back in later…good luck on studying!

Florida_CandidateParticipantThank you! I'm about to take a dinner break and then will be packing my bags for the library, these kind of questions require renting a cubicle room and not being able to have access to my tv 😉

njguy26ParticipantFlorida_Candidate: I did the same thing for that question, wrote everything out and all and then realized it was working capital they wanted, although I think it may pop up again and they'll ask for NPV of the whole project, if I remember correctly. Solid waste of time for me too.
Good to know some of these questions are from CMA exams and HOPEFULLY! won't be tested. Some of these are taking me a good 5 minutes so I can't imagine the real one would have too many like this. Working them out does help though as frustrating as it may be.

whitesoxfancpaParticipantFlorida_Candidate,
I also set up a big sheet to solve an NVP calculation and they were only asking for one little piece! AGH! Probably the same question.
I have heard from MANY people on this forum and outside this forum that BEC exam is much easier than Becker's questions for BEC3 and BEC5.
So…I figure if I could trudge my way through these horrible questions, I'll be alright.

njguy26ParticipantHaha I'm in the same boat as you guys, except the library I use has basically no hours on Sundays so I'm forced to turn off the tv, fantasy sports, iTouch, and do work in my house. I sure hope the real test questions are better than Becker's for 3 and 5 so hopefully all this homework helps.

njguy26ParticipantI wish I was still in college, then I could have such a quiet space until 1 AM as well. I graduated in 2008 and just finished an MBA program this summer and am actually starting work next week so I've been studying as much as possible before starting in hopes of getting some of the test done before work starts.

Florida_CandidateParticipantoh wow, congrats on starting work! That's such a huge accomplishment. My firm told me to start in January and “get this sucker out of the way first”. They gave me a year to get my masters and finish the cpa. They were willing to give ma until next September (which would have been a year and 9 months) but I was like… naw a year is plenty. There have been times though when I wished I would have taken that extra 9 months to relax! I keep thinking my job is goign to start and I'm never going to be able to relax again 😀
But seriously, congrats! Very cool 🙂

Florida_CandidateParticipantwatching my % right dwindle as I go through the questions in B3 is frustrating me… I'm down to 50% now 🙁 This is so upsetting, I feel like they barely went over this crap (and didn't go over a lot of it) in the lectures and/or book. I'm kinda regretting my study strategy now. I guess I can look at the positive that I still have the rest of tonight and then Mon-Thurs to just drill these multiple choice like crazy. Grawr! I can't believe I'm not done with B3 yet 🙁

njguy26ParticipantBelieve me I felt the same way, exactly. I was so frustrated with BEC 3 last week that I just stopped flat out in the middle of it and took a step back for a few hours. Then I decided to reread the chapter and write out all the examples in the book to make sure I could follow it step by step. I feel like they didn't cover a lot of it either, I think I learned how to do a good deal of them from the explanations. The first time around I was in the 50% – 60% range, but the second time it jumped to the 70's. Not great but I feel like I'm getting a few more right each time. And hopefully the real test questions aren't that involved because some of those take so long to do. I'm about to start the last BEC 5 section then start the beast of 197 supplemental questions.
Yea I feel the same way, I'm excited to start but kind of worried how I'm gonna be able to work and study effectively. I started grad. school right after finishing my undergrad so I didn't work and go at the same time, something that I think would be a real challenge.
Good luck getting through the multiple choice, you won't be the only one doing them over and over this week.

herbert7890ParticipantI believe a lot of people are taking BEC on October! I will take next Saturday (October 2nd) and all i need is to take the 2 practice exams!! Good luck to everyone on this window

Florida_CandidateParticipantwell I ended that particular topic with 71% and I was actually HAPPY with that. It was a set of 39 questions, I was averaging 50% on the first half and then somewhere around question 20 they started getting easier (read: less calculations). Oh and also figured out that I thought receivables turnover was the same thing as collection period and I thought inventory turnover was the same thing and conversion period. Yeah… once I got those two things straightened out I was able to pick up a few more points 😀
Time to start those B3 supplementals (yep I haven't even STARTED those yet D:), I'm going to need some serious mental strength for those things 🙁
