jeffKeymasterRecommended prep time for BEC is 4 weeks @ 20 hours a week.

gabe1475ParticipantEzhill – I did not have a version that was more focused on computational, which I would have prefered. That does not mean that the one you get will be the same. It is the luck of the draw. I used Yeager and they do an excellent job at preparing you for the computational parts, the rest is up to you.
Good luck Whitesox, I felt the same and am hoping that some of the guesses are either right or pretest questions. Should know about 3 weeks from today.

whitesoxfancpaParticipantHerbert,
It's a strange feeling. I am used to getting home from work around 5:30 and studying by 6:30 or 7. Now I don't know what to do with myself! I forgot how to have a life!

whitesoxfancpaParticipantGabe,
Yeah, I think it's probably pretty common to have guesses on the BEC exam. It's so much random material. I may have not gotten in the 90's again but I'm pretty sure I passed, based on experiences in the other test. All I want is a 75.
I'm looking forward to hearing about both of our passing scores in a few weeks.

herbert7890ParticipantI would probably feel the same as you after I'm done with the exams. That will probably mean that I will get bored and will try to get another certification such as CMA or CIA. I forgot how to have fun by just playing xbox or something “normal”. My wife would kill me if I do that, though.

gabe1475ParticipantIf I took the exam on 10/25 is there any chance they could push your score to Wave 2? I know with the other exams there was a possiblity if you got a new simulation, but there are no sims here. Just wondering.

MasamanParticipantGabe1475 – From what I've read, you would get pushed to Wave 2 if you are on the cusp. But as I understand there are no absolutes with this test so take it for what it's worth. The good thing is that BEC is usually the first scores released and like you said no sims so nothing too subjective for the test graders.
I take this November 18th as a retake (64 last time). I have Becker self study and was wondering how you all were studying. I feel like there is just so much material to cover and it is all memorizing. Unlike AUD which seemed like at least there was some logic thrown in there. I watch a lecture and go straight to the M/C's right after. On lunch breaks I go over all my notes and highlights in the text. I'm really trying to not take this next year because I don't want to add any more complexity with the new mini sims.

MasamanParticipantkobebryant168 – Great name by the way. I mean if you are at that 74 ish range where you may not have enough for a passing 75 but are close. From what I get, they will hold your results until wave 2 to further analyze your test. So many little factors and no seems to have anything certain as to why. Also don't get discouraged if you see that your test was released but it doesn't reflect on your state board website yet. My score got released but it did not show up for like 2-3 days after the release. Judging by your name I assume you are also in CA. They say that CA is one of the faster state boards to post their grades.

nycegurlParticipantHello all!!! It has been quite a while since I visited the forums. I have had well over 2 months to study for BEC and have not even started! Been job hunting as I was “laid off” and have been stressed about that instead of focusing on this beast of an exam. It's Nov 1st and I have 19 days to prepare. No work to stress about so I possibly have all day to study with the exception of interviews and job follow ups. BEC is my last one and I really WANT to pass so I don't have to deal with the written portion next year! Any tips? Honestly when I took this earlier this year, I didn't feel too bad about it and wound up with a 69. = I don't even know why!!! The results I received back don't even make sense to me because it said my weakness was IT but in reality IT is my strongest area in studies/review/etc. I am very week in Cost and on my results said it was comparable. ???? seriously. AICPA…wtf? (is that allowed?) Anyhow, just started my first module today, Business Structure..nice and easy. Here we go! Cramming all the way until the 20th. wish me luck! And best of luck to those of you sitting within the next few weeks. (Am I crazy to think this is feasible?)

gabe1475Participantkobebryant168 – more than likely if you take the exam before a certain date you will end up in wave 1, but there are exceptions, such as getting a new sim. Since there are no sims in BEC was just curious if a grade close to 75 would have the same outcome since these test are graded on a curve.

I started redoing the becker lectures from scratch on Saturday and am using my Wiley MCQ to go over each chapter after I finish the lectures. I'm hoping this will help me with my nerves and improve my short term memory!!!
Oh yeah btw I'm working on about 6 hours sleep since Saturday as all I keep doing is tossing and turning. *Sigh* I'm really praying that this is my last part as this process is just too torturous for me. ;(
