AnonymousInactiveHi Florida_Candidate – you advised me on FAR a few weeks ago (not to panic, etc and that a lot of people feel horrid after and still pass). So I took it this morning and it did not go well…
I think I did decent on the MCQ – although I couldn't really tell if I got difficult testlets or not as some questions were lengthy/wordy while others were very short. Thoughts?
But the main issue were the sims. Horrible! I completly ran out of time, did not complete either research tab and left a couple of tabs blank. I did decent on both communication tabs I think though. I know I nailed one tab (please don't let that one be a pre-test item..), but did pretty poor on the others as I ran out of time and fursiously kept filling things out.
What are the chances that I passed….? Any input would be greatly appreciated! I recall you said you thought you did horrible, but you ended up getting a great score. Did you have time to complete everything?

LauraN874ParticipantHi CA-CPA, I see that you got a great score on Audit. I am currently studying for it now and scheduled to take it in two and a half weeks, any tips? I didn't feel comfortable coming out of FAR either. I didn't finish my last simulation, left like 2 tabs blank and still passed so you really can never tell with these exams.

OMGParticipantCA_CPA : I passed FAR back in August and thought I got no higher than a 40. The first testlet of Xchoice went pretty well, but I was using too much time. Then each testlet got progressively harder, and I was using more and more time. The last 20 xchoice questions, I just went with my first thought, didn't question it, and moved on. I had about 40 min left to do both SIMS. I immediately did the written part, which took about 10 minutes. Then the first tab I looked at, I drew a blank, 2nd tab…couldn't think of the answer and started panicking about time. I ended up putting garbage for about 2 tabs, and left the rest blank. Think I got the research question though. Second simulation I had about 15 min left. I wrote the written communication and with about 5 min left, I was looking at the tabs and was mentally drained. I couldn't think and time expired and I didn't answer anything…and I passed with a 76. So you really can't tell…especially on FAR.

AnonymousInactiveThanks for feedback everyone, that makes me feel better! I am just praying that I can squeeze a 75 out of this…
I studied on my own just using the Wiley book and Gleim MCQs. I hope I haven't shot myself in the foot for being ‘cheap' and not going for a review course. But then I am between jobs and have had the time to prep as I'm not working. In fact, this makes me feel worse as I feel like I should definitly pass these exams as I am not juggling a job at the same time!
LauraN874 – I thought AUD was much easier than the others as it really just comes down to memorizing. For me, it helped to take a lot of notes, e.g.
– Under each opinion I listed the types of scenarios that falls into that ‘bucket' because you KNOW you will get Qs on that and it's a quick win if you have that knowldege down.
– Make sure you are very clear on the ‘if IC is at max, what does the auditor need to do etc', i.e. substantive vs control testing etc.
– For IC, I tried to take a step back to think about what would happen in the ‘real' world.
I hope that helps some!

MPoni123Participant@ CA_CPA – I took FAR the end of August and took way too long on the MCQs and only had like an hour or so left for both SIMs. I finished the first SIM and did decent on the WC portion, but the second SIM I left a few tabs blank and guessed on both research tabs. I ended up passing with a 75. So, even though you left a few tabs blank…you could have still passed. I must have done ok on the MCQs and well on the WCs. I couldn't tell if my testlets were getting harder or I just didn't know the material lol. Best of luck to you!

veenaParticipantHiiiiii everyone ,
You go on studying remembering each and every important thing to be remembered and after sometime if you take test or try to remember you forgot everything or get confused which one is the correct answer for that question ………………… so does this happens to everyone or its happening to me ????? My BEC classes started and while doing the homework I ran into confusion and select the wrong answer but when I go through the topic I feel I remembered everything ?? And when I see my results I feel very bad that I am not able to choose the correct answer……. and that makes me Tensed about BEC as its for the one part and what happened to the other parts ????
How I am going to pass if this is the case??? Does this happens to everyone or there's a problem in me while preparing ??? And I am feeling full tensed as I am going to give the BEC on Nov 17th ………… Oh GOD………… please help me out …..
Any suggestions or advice are appreciated……………… thank you in advance

gabe1475ParticipantHow much actual time have you spent reviewing the material. It all comes down to repetion. If you do the questions enough and get the same question wrong several times, you will start to remember the answer assuming it is a definition question. If it is a calc question, you need to review the proper way to solve after each question you get wrong.

stplover8972ParticipantAny last minute advice on BEC exam? Taking it tomorrow and have been studying like a mad woman for the last 2 weeks. I have already taken this exam twice…with almost passing scores. I have done problem after problem with Wiley and Roger. Today I took a “practice” exam and scored a 85%. I just do sooooo horrible with MC ?s when I get put into a test setting. Anything I should really focus on for the next 12ish hours? This is my last exam and I need to pass or I lose a part. Yup…I'm stressing to say the least. <3 to all that are embarking on this CPA exam adventure.

gabe1475ParticipantTook BEC today. Had quite a few questions that were confusing, most of them in the IT area since that was my weakest subject. If I had to guess I would say I passed, but you never know until you get the score. Is there any scores that get pushed to the 2nd wave for BEC?
