Florida Candidate, I'm studying for BEC as well (exam on 10/2) and I'm going through my second round of lectures and MCQs with Becker. All I can say is that Becker is awesome for everything in BEC besides the OH variances, for that I watched the full one hour demo of roger for BEC and got it INSTANTLY.

For those of you who took BEC already, is timing that much of an issue? I know most people say FAR is the big one for people running out of time, but it seems like doing these MCQ I am taking more than 2 minutes per problem to calculate them. It's the first time through, so I'm sure once I get the hang of what data to use from the problem the calculations will go quicker. Just concerned for the time being.

    FAR - 87
    AUD - 88
    BEC - 88
    REG - waiting

@ herbert – where is this demo???? 😀

@ studyingismynewhobby – I think if you just do enough questions they start to go fast, I'm ALWAYS slower when I start working the MCQ's vs. right before the exam where I've basically gotten used to most of the question formats…

@ Kobe – it really depends on your definition of curved, see an explanation of AICPA grading here:

    https://www.aicpa.org/BecomeACPA/CPAExam/PsychometricsandScoring/ScoringInformation/DownloadableDocuments/How_the_CPA_Exam_is_Scored.pdf

@ vaponte – no idea, but I'm also in Florida and curious, let me know when you find out! ;D

    @ Florida cand

Thank you for your website, my definition of curved is that “you don't get what you get- you scored 75% doesn't mean you get 75% on your final score, the examiners take consideration on how other candidates performed and do a some kind like a bell curve similar to what we faced in universities…average is like a B or B-“

My question is since BEC only contains MCQs, is there a possibility they will post your actual score on the exam online?

    Thanks

@Kobe – if you read the guide it says how each multiple choice question have different point values, so no you don't have to get 75% of the questions right, you just have to get 75 points, it's a bit more complicated than that. Each multiple choice question has different point values… read the guide it explains it really well!
