Florida_CandidateParticipantOkayyyy I'm feeling a LITTLE better about this whole thing. I'm going to change my attitude to seeing this as a road trip and 2 hours to clear my mind while driving to just relax…. gahhh this really sucks though 🙁

Florida_CandidateParticipantLOL thank god for parents. I just called my dad freaking out… I just turned 21 and I'd like to think that I'm super mature for my age but sometimessssss like today it just really helps to call someone and say “dadddddyyyy fix this!” Granted he couldn't, but he did give me some great ideas. Like leave WAY early, bring my laptop with me and find a starbucks nearby to hang out in and surf the net (i.e. hang out on this forum) until it's time to take the exam… make some mix cd's that I can listen to on the way there that are relaxing and make me feel good :D.
I'm still upset but feeling better.

njguy26ParticipantUse the driving time as a time to relax and build up your confidence. I often find driving to be very stress relieving and granted you'll be on a long drive, don't let that take away from the fact that you have studied very hard and know this material. At least you figured it out now and didn't realize tomorrow morning. I'd say get there as early as you can so you don't have to deal with traffic and can take a few deep breaths before heading in. You'll be fine!

Florida_CandidateParticipantThank you 🙂 I think it was just the initial shock that made it so bad. But I'm pretty good now. Got myself together. Just an initial freak out. Thank god for my daddy lol!

Florida_CandidateParticipantI just put the following in my car…
1. Email confirmation from prometric
2. NTS
3. 2 forms of ID's
4. Driving directions to TAMPA
5. Driving directions from the testing center to starbucks 😀

Florida_CandidateParticipantI don't know if I'd recommend the flaschards for BEC. The flashcards for AUD were essential, I think that's the main reason I got the score I did. However, I've memorized all the flaschards for BEC and I hardly feel they were useful at all.. it's just a different type of exam. I had to make a lot of my own flashcards honestly because they didn't even have flashcards for all the formulas!

njguy26ParticipantYea I agree the BEC ones aren't too helpful, I guess the ones for chapter 4 are kind of helpful but overall I wouldn't say they're gonna help too much. Just did the BEC exam and got in the low 70's although some of the questions were just stupid mistakes and I am so drained from studying I overlooked simple things that I should get. Hopefully the real exam is a bit easier, which I definitely found with REG so hopefully it holds true for BEC.

Florida_CandidateParticipantI'm SURE it will be. I'm just going through gleim IT questions but not stressing. I think at this point we are both fine. Seriously, we got nothing to worry about. We are both smart and we have BOTH put in the time! Besides, low 70's on Becker DEFINITELY translate to a passing score. That seems to be the general idea. I scored mid 70's for FAR lol! And see what I got? 😀
We are gonna rock this tomorrow. I'm gonna miss talking to you though! What's the next section you taking or are you done?

whitesoxfancpaParticipantI don't think the flashcards are very helpful. I would much rather do practice questions.
The first and only notes I've ever taken, other than what Gearty or Olinto say to write in the text, is formulas for B3. I have all of those on one sheet of paper and about once a day I'll see if I could write them all out to make sure I haven't forgotten them.

Florida_CandidateParticipant^^lol I do that too. I have an excel spreadsheet with all the “names” of the formulas and a box and I just fill out the boxes every morning. Takes me about 10 min….

whitesoxfancpaParticipantFlorida_Candidate,
I just read about your testing center screw-up. LOL, you'll be fine. Sh*t happens. Just leave a ton early, find some place to relax and unwind for an hour or so, and kick BEC's ass. Your dad has the right idea. You probably don't want to be barely on time and take the exam immediately after a two-hour drive.
I can't believe you're only 21. You are going to be one of the youngest CPAs out there. I'm 25, by the way.

Florida_CandidateParticipantThanks whitesox 🙂
And… I'm officially DONE for the night. I'm done I'm done I'm done. I'm just gonna trust myself at this point, no use drilling anything else. I never got to look over cost or variance problems again, spent the last few hours drilling IT crap. But, honestly if I don't pass I know it aint cause I didn't prepare 😀
**deep breath** I'm ready I'm ready I'm ready……

njguy26ParticipantI'm gonna reread the IT chapter again and try and pick up on any details, I have the feeling there will be some obscure question or something totally random about it. I've enjoyed venting about this test with you too, but I am starting my review class for FAR in a couple weeks and starting work Monday. I just don't know how I'm gonna have the time to study as much as I am now. FAR is the one I expected to be the hardest. Oh well can't worry about that now. Any variance problem I get I probably won't know how to do but I feel pretty good about everything else that hopefully it's not too bad. Good luck Florida, let me know how you think it went! P.S. I definitely thought you were older than 21 by the way too! Definitely will be the youngest CPA I know, got me beat by 3 years lol.
