    Florida_Candidate,

    Sounds like you're doing well. You'll ace the test. After muddling through those miserable Becker calculation questions, you're going to feel the exam is so easy, like a marathon runner jogging a half mile.

    LOL, I see from that shot that you have this forum minimized.

    Based on potential sales of 500 units per year, a new product has estimated traceable costs of $990,000. What is the target price to obtain a 15% profit margin on sales?

    a: $2329

    b: $2277

    c: $1980

    d: $1935

    I am calculating a 2,329 the software says 2,277. Let me know what you come up with.

    Thanks

    You gotta just do it. Forget motivation. I'm never motivated to go to work but I do it every day anyway.

    @2003z06: I got 2277:

    990,000/500 = 1980 * 1.15 = 2277

    @NY_CPA: as Peter Olinto (from Becker) would say: there is an inverse relationship between misery and passing the CPA Exam (or something to that effect). Gotta do it, you're almost there. And you already passed the behemoth: FAR! I'm saving that for last! Good luck to everyone taking the exam(s)!

    @75_stay_alive: Thanks

    Here is my formula

    1980 – X = .15X

    1980 = .85X

    X = 2329

    I am so burned out.

    @njguy26 – I think your plan is good, and yes I think we're both going to be PLENTY prepared. I'm going to be reading the technical addendum today I feel like I am still weak on that. Also, I bought the gleim test bank so get some financial investment and cost accounting/variance problems that I haven't seen already (I've memorized all the fact patterns from Becker). I think we will both be good.

    @whitesoxfancpa – Yep I definitely had this window minimized! LOL I always have this forum open, I check it like every massive calculation that I finish 🙂 it's my motivation for finishing! That is so sad. This is why I post on this thing a million times a day!

    @NY_CPA_2010 – Yeah as far as motivation goes, I'm just motivated when I see my test date coming closer and closer and I am not prepared lol!

    The technical addendum is pretty complex although there are a few things that I remember seeing from the HW questions but having no what they meant. A lot of history on IT and stuff like that but some pretty interesting stuff as well. I'm about to go through all the chapter 4 questions again then review chapter 3 and spend most of tomorrow trying to get at least a working knowledge of the variance part. That has really been hard for me so I've kind of put it off, but tomorrow is my last day to try and understand it.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who checks this forum repeatedly, actually I check here when I need a break from doing questions for what seems like hours on end. I like knowing I'm not the only who is being made miserable by this lol.

    lol no I'm seriously on here ALL the time so don't feel like a loser! Well maybe feel like a loser but know you're not alone 🙂 And yeah I actually took this afternoon off to clean my house (I haven't picked up or cleaned anything in days) and will be watching some old tivo shows with my friend tonight during dinner. I feel much more relaxed now. I will definitely definitely be reading the addendum tonight though and doing some calculation problems tomorrow 🙂 but not too many… At this point I feel like it's almost better to relax a bit and manage my stress than to drill my issues over and over again and stress myself out!

    @2003z06: np. I know that feeling. Take a breather if you're feeling burned out. Then tackle the probs again. Good luck on your exam.

    Florida_Candidate,

    None of us have lives right now! We're all losers!

    Some people from work want to go out this Friday and I said I needed to check my schedule. So I literally checked my BEC study schedule (yes, I have one) to see if it would be possible to skip studying Friday night and fit in in another time. I was going to take Sunday afternoon off from studying to watch football, but I'll study Sunday afternoon instead of Friday night. So I told them I'll be going out Friday night.

    LOL, they think I'm insane. But you gotta do what you gotta do. I need that organization and structure. I don't know how people can wing it and get everything done. I have a goal every time I study that I'm going to get through this chapter, or these questions, etc.

    @Whitesox – haha I am the same way. Google Calendar runs my life… I have it synced to my blackberry so my phone reminds me of everything i have scheduled at any given time lol! Becker is a “green” calendar in Google Calendar so it has it's own alarms and whatnot. I wake up in the morning with my blackberry telling me what I need to do that day for Becker. It's pretty sad but it's also how I succeed in life 🙂 I mean… you say my incredibly detailed hour-by-hour schedule for today! LOL

    @cpaexam – Recommended prep time for BEC is 4 weeks @ 20 hours a week.

    Hope this helps a little 🙂 I spent 4 weeks on it but I can't tell you how long I spent on each different section…
