I have both Yaeger and Becker-2011 , I am having a tough time figuring out what to use for this one topic i.e – Cost Measurement , Planning and budgeting .

This is one topic that gives me nightmares and was my weakest area when I took the exam last time- used Becker all throughout!!

Anyone have any idea if Cindy does a good job of explaining it or Becker especially the variances portion. Those of you have covered this topic using Yeager, please share your experience ..

Based on what I've read on this forum, use Yaeger for that.

I am also using Becker 2011 and Yaeger 2011. I've watched Cost Measurement, Financial Risk Management and Capital Budgeting in Yaeger and think Cindy Simpson explains these very well.

Thanks for the inputs , I watched module 47 ( cost ) from Yaeger yesterday , and omg !! my concepts are like crystal clear now… ! I think I am definitely sticking wit Cindy for Cost and Financial management at least if not more …

@CPAWanna Be –Quick question – how do you manage all those MCQ’s between Becker Passmaster, Wiley text book and the Wiley DVD. Do you manage to do all per Chapter/ Module? I keep the wiley DVD at work and do that during lunch and coffee breaks andBecker I so at home. Although a lot of the questions are repeated between Becker and Wiley DVD , between both of them there are quite a few questions !!!

I try to do as many questions as I have time for. I spent too much time on Cost by watching both Yaeger and Becker and doing all the questions in each. I guess I wanted to see who does it better so I don't miss anything. Now I am just using Yaeger for Financial Management and Capital Budgeting. I will just do the Wiley questions here.

When I go to IT, I will watch the Becker lectures and just do those questions. I learned a long time ago that doing every question out there will drive you insane, especially with all these CMA questions thrown in.

@CPAWANNABE-Yes that makes sense …. I shall do as many questions as I can, The CMA ones are terrible …uuggghh …

I guess getting the concept down is more important , which was not working for me with becker for cost and financial mgmt. !

You guys are making me want to go out and buy Yaeger's BEC just to see how Cindy does the cost section, even though I've already passed BEC! 🙂

Guess I'll just go buy a chocolate candy bar instead for now. 🙂

Oh…and don't let the 90 on BEC fool you…I did struggle with learning the cost concepts (using Becker), so I am serious when I say you make me want to see how Cindy did it and created so much aha, wow, and other excitement amongst you all…I NEVER felt excited about the cost section when I was studying it – was just thankful to get it down enough to pass the exam. 🙂

I used both wiley test bank and textbook. If you have Becker do all the qs too!
