Hi all!

I just took BEC last Friday and was wondering if the testlets were adaptive? I’ve read that the difficulty of testlet questions depends on how well you do on the first and so on. I have read, also however, that BEC is the only exam that is not adaptive. I thought the difficulty of questions went down significantly in my second testlet and back up in the third. I am nervous that this could be due to poor performance on the first testlet. I can do nothing but wait now. I was just hoping for some light about whether the exam functions the same way as the other 3.

I've also had friends say that they thought the 2nd and 3rd testlets were harder, but BEC as of now is not adaptive. So maybe in those testlets you just got hit with the topics you found harder. I had the other experience, my 2nd and 3rd testlets got easier, and had I not known that it's not adaptive, I would have started to worry!

ahh thank you so much! That gives me some relief as I thought it signaled poor performance on the first testlet. Fingers crossed for the next 5 weeks! congrats Anagha on your scores!

Thought the same thing when I took the exam. But the prior posts are correct BEC is not adaptive. A couple of days ago I posted a link to how the exam is graded. I think I did it under FAR discussion thread. I will see if I can find the link and repost it.

Hi all………

I am new to US and i planned to do CPA. I submitted my application and waiting for NTS. I want to go for BEC first as from next year there's a change in syllabus too i want to know its a good decision or i should have taken some other than BEC. And i planning to join Becker is it a good choice or i have to go for others need help and suggestions

FAR and Audit will include IFRS – those will change the most. BEC will just add the communication. I would go for FAR and AUD.
