Cost is my weakest point. Esp. when variances start showing up.. I’ve done all of B1-B6 hw once, and I have started to redo it all again to try and do it more then once before my exam. I spent about 2 days on B1 MCQ’s, and as soon as B2 came around.. It looks like its going to take me 3 days if not more of full day studying to get it done. I remember nothing, I even have to use the book and usually get it wrong since it goes into more detail then the book… I already pushed back my exam for an extra 8 days… The IT/ECON/Financial (B3-B5) can be done in 2 days for all sections if not, then 3.. B5 will probably need a day for itself.

B1&B2 I need more practice with.. I don’t know if I should push my exam back again maybe to August 31? I feel like I need to do test bank & the wiley book questions before I walk into this exam..

    What do you guys think?

REG: PASS || BEC: PASS || AUD: PASS || F: SCORE PENDING..

I'm not familiar with the Becker material, so I'm not saying it's that. But I do know that I never could understand cost accounting in college, but the way Cindy from Yaeger explained it made total sense to me. In fact, it was about the only section of BEC where I felt like I “got it.” It might help to purchase the BEC Cram – you can find a discount code on their FB page so it makes the total $175.

If you're not already, try solving the DM, DL, OH, WIP, FG, COGS questions using T-accounts. That made a huge difference for me.

For variances, not sure how Becker does it but Cindy has you set it up like this…

    AQ*AP

    AQ*SP

    SQ*SP

If the #'s lower as you go down, the variance is unfavorable. If the #'s get higher as you go down, the variance is favorable.

    Good luck!

BEC should be doable between now and the end of August. You can spend 3-5 days on each section (1-5) if needed and a full day on 6 and still have time to do an overall review. Take it one topic at a time and it all comes together eventually. I did BEC start to finish in 28 days using Becker.
