For those who have taken the new 2011 format, can you provide me with a little more information about the focus points – how many simulations, etc.

    AUD 80 (5/17/10)
    REG 72 (11/29/10)

Three multiple choice testlets, each containing 24 MCQs and then one SIM testlet which involves writing 3 memos.

A couple of points in addition to what asleephere said. The MCQ count 85% and the writing 15%. 12 of the MCQ and 1 of the writing questions are test questions that don't count in your score. The writing topics can be on any topic – they might be BEC but might also be FAR, AUD, REG, or general business. It doesn't matter if the facts you state in your memos are correct as long as you are directly answering the questions. Use good business writing construction with paragraphs and don't use bullet points. If you're using Becker, there is a good explanation of the writing do's and don't's in the introduction. However, their “good” answers are probably wordier than you need to be.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

I just finished taking BEC and I am absolutely dissapointed. With that said, I also believe becker is a waste of money for BEC. 70% of the material/topics covered by becker isnt on the exam. one of my wc is from left field.

@rknight21 Did you do any of the test bank questions from Wiley or cpareviewforfree.com? I'm taking BEC next week and I'm currently in review mode and have tried to incorporate different test banks as well as use the NINJA notes. I sure hope this helps! I DO NOT want to have to study this stuff again!

    BEC - 69
    AUD - NOT SCHEDULED
    FAR - NOT SCHEDULED
    REG - NOT SCHEDULED

Honestly wiley, cpareviewforfree and the ninja notes should be good enough to pass. I was mostly tested on 3 areas and becker does cover those areas. The thing is that becker provides so much info. and 70% of it, you will not see.

2 of the WC was from BEc material and another was from FAR. Funny enough It was one of the BEC WC that I had to BS. It was just too comprehensive I believe.

Food for thought, everyones exam is different. On another site someone posted about an area they were tested heavily on (the same area the ninja notes is said to be a plus for) and I doubt I seen more than 5 questions from that area.

I've never understood why people blame their study materials for their shortcomings on the exam. The buck stops with you, big guy.

p.s. I am SHOCKED you struggled with the writing section.

Everyone's different. I wasn't wild about either Wiley or the Becker text for BEC, but for me Becker covered the material I saw on the exam better than Wiley. There is a caveat, however. Becker designates a lot of material as ancillary that should be part of the regular text. You could be in trouble if you don't include this in your studies. I liked the Ninja notes for BEC because they helped bring all the widespread topis together in my mind. They also helped me enormously with IT.

rknight: How were you for time on the exam? Did you have ample time to review all your MCQ and the WC?

    AUD: 07/11/11 - Passed
    BEC: 08/27/11 - Passed
    FAR: 01/17/12 - Passed
    REG: 04/30/12; Re-take 7/16/12 - Passed

    FINISHED!!!!!!!!

@susan…As with AUD I used up all the time allowed. Except this time I took no break :-(… BEC really should be 30 minutes longer IMO. Took 30 minutes for testlet 1, 40 minutes for testlet 2, 40 minutes for testlet 3 and 70 minutes for testlet 4.

Time for testlet 1-3 includes going over each answer.
