Yes, Cindy is very good for BEC. I just bought the cram, but thought she was excellent.

Cindy is good. I used her for BEC and passed. I agree with nolifecpa…the way she goes over variances helped me tons!

I wouldn't recommend using Yaeger for REG because Phil goes all over the place. I wish Cindy could teach all 4 parts LOL

Thanks for the feedback, I need all the help I can get for BEC. How much time from start to finish for BEC if I use the Cindy course? I am looking to take it early to mid Jan 15 ish. Is that enough? I can put in about 2-3hours a day M-F and 8 hours on the weekend.

IT is all book and definitions. There is only so much you can teach on that stuff. I learned IT by doing every single IT question in the Wiley test bank.

Anybody recommend another software that works with videos etc. The consensus for Cindy is so so for BEC, Roger, Wiley, Becker – what works for BEC if you are dedicated. I am not looking for a substitute for hard work, just need a good aid for studying. Appreciate the feedback

I had a decent experience with Becker (look below). Becker really focuses on you studying your heart out through MCQ's in homework. The lectures are high level and give you a decent base for going to the homework. At some point you need to read through the lectures and do the homework. For your reference, I normally scored in the 70's range on homework, but I learn a lot by reading the answer explanations.

If you're looking to have the course read and explain every topic to you, then Becker won't be your forte; however, if you want the lectures to go over the main topics and don't mind reading a few sections on your own, then Becker may be good for you. There are sections called ‘ancillary' that they don't lecture on. These are either new sections for 2011 or just “dry/straightforward” material. See below, it's worked for me. You mentioned how much you are studying about 20-25 hrs/week. Wow! I spent about 2.5 weeks studying for a total of about 85 hours. At your level that should be PLENTY of review time for your exam in January. You could probably move your exam to early January so you could give yourself more time and take another section in late February (assuming this is not your last section). Good luck!

Exam prep - Becker self-study

This is what I do (lets see if it works). Before I watch the lectures I go through the assigned HW, if I have a question on it I mark it and hope that its mentioned in the lecture (usually it is). When they talk about stuff in the chapters Ill highlight and re-read then go back and do the MCs 2 more times. If they are already going over stuff I comprehend then I fast forward (making sure that I dont pass through anything that might be important). The Yeagar stuff is a bit all over the place and I think they could cut down some if it. I have the attention span of a 6 year old when someone is speaking to me (I blame my parents…jk) however I can spend 3-4 hours without a break busting out MCs and practicing the equations. Its about your style of learning, but I find most of the lectures you can teach yourself. However there are those parts where you will need the explanation and in that case Cindy is very good. Hope that answers your question.
