I am a little more than 2 weeks away from BEC. I have Corporate Governance, IT, Cost, and Economics down pat (scoring high 80s/low 90s in Wiley for those sections.)

However, Risk Management/Capital Budgeting, Performance Measures, and Financial Management are kicking my butt! I am high 60s/low 70s in those.

I have re-written notes, made flashcards, watched the videos, and done lots of MCQ, but I don’t seem to be improving.

Any help??!?!?!

It sounds like you are doing everything you need to do. When you work the problems do you tell yourself why each incorrect choice is incorrect and why the correct choice is correct? That has always helped me to retain information. Other than that I would recommend the NINJA Audio but I don't think Jeff has it ready for BEC. I know this doesn't sound like much help. Sorry 🙁

Another thought… You mentioned re-writing notes. Do you have the NINJA notes or are you re-writing your own? If you don't have them I would suggest you get them ASAP and start writing those. Between the notes and the audio my REG scores went from “Does this woman know what an accountant is?” to “Dang, she learned some stuff since last time!”

For Financial Management, my rule is this. ALWAYS DISCOUNT EVERYTHING. BUT MAKE SURE YOU APPLY THE ENACTED TAX RATE AND DEPRECIATION. Those three things allowed me to answer EVERY single question correctly. As for the concept, that was obviously more difficult as you have to know why and what you are doing.

But even the concept questions are usually the same as what you practice, so no worries.
