AmayMembernot sure if I should reschedule again. I have 3 days until my test and I am still not in review mode. This is what I have been avoiding all along, but health issues and work put me so far behind this time. Things have been so crazy at work the past few weeks and it’s only going to get crazier. Time-wise I fell a little better in my studies than when I got the 73. This time, I actually watched all the lectures, took a lot of notes, and I am only missing about a chapter and a 1/2 of MCQs, which I could do in 2 nights (possibly). Maybe, as a last resort, if I can get the day before my test off work, I can pull this off?! I know about the importance of rescheduling if you are not ready, but I feel with work deadlines approaching soon and the FAR exam scheduled for Dec, I have no room to move BEC yet again. What do you guys think I should do? I checked tonight, and for the price of 60 bucks, there is a slot for Monday the 28th…I just don’t know yet if work will allow it…
BEC: 73, 81
AUD: 85
FAR: 71, 77
REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

AmayMemberThank you guys all so much for your input. I had not checked back all day and I have news to share. My boss let me take the day off tomorrow, although I have to make it up on Saturday (I offered since I really do have a lot of work). I am glad you guys are giving me the extra motivation I need to do this. I have it all planned out and I'm hoping I feel as close to ready as possible on test day!
@Jennifer, Looks like we really ARE on the same boat. I was actually thinking, worst comes to worst I postpone it until Saturday, and just keep Thursday's day off to study. I am glad I get to take tomorrow off though, because I wouldn't feel good about not telling them about the day switch. I was going through the same logic as you though, since we did extend FAR and all. LOL.
UGH!! The indecision of it all kills me sometimes. I swear I stared at that open slot last night on the prometric site for like 5 minutes, wrote this post, went back, and it was gone. I took it as a sign 🙂

tough_kittyMemberDude! You are taking FAR in December??? If you barely can find time to study for BEC now, imagine how little time you'll have to study for FAR??? 5 weeks??? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's an ambitious plan…..but it took me about 8 weeks for FAR and about 150 hrs of study…..including the Roger lectures but they were VERY helpful!
Best of luck!!!!!!!!!! Hope you pass them all!
I am contemplating rescheduling AUD but I know that I'll end up wasting half of that time anyway….so perhaps a better idea would be to take a few days off and keep practicing……….
I have plenty of time at work to study for FAR, BEC, REG, so I studied 4-6 hrs a day (mostly at work) but now I changed jobs and I find it VERY difficult to find time to study during the week and especially with those STUPID AUD topics I feel like studying 1 hour here and there doesn't make it very productive………I'd rather study for BEC or REG right now – smaller topics to cover and easier to memorize than those stupid internal controls and audit procedures…………ugh……………sorry, a bit frustrated over here, can you tell……..
FAR: 81 (May 2013)
BEC: 81 (July 2013)
REG: 83 (August 2013)
AUD: 82 (November 2013)

MintsRGoodParticipant@tough_kitty Hang in there!!!!!! Auditing is the worst. I hate all the controls, procedures, and the overall subjective nature of the MCQs. Taking a few days off to power through sounds like the best way to go if you can get the time at your new job without rocking the boat. What also makes it suck is that this is your last section and probably are feeling burned out from constant study the past several months. Do whatever it takes to power through the next 2 weeks to finish strong! I missed getting off this slow train through hell by 3 points in August and it was a heartbreaker. Keep fighting through the audit monotony and close out on the 10th!!!! 🙂
REG: 75 DONE 🙂
AUD: 61, 71, 68, 92 DONE 🙂
BEC: 76 DONE 🙂
FAR: 72, 74, 79 DONE 🙂

AmayMember@tough_kitty you are absolutely right. I am totally freaking out about not having enough time to study for FAR. Trust me. It's not going to be easy. But I prefer killing myself for 5.5 weeks and giving myself a chance at a pass than having to take it in January, because that means studying through Xmas. I guess I just have to wait it out. If work makes it absolutely impossible for me to make progress on this thing, I'm going to have no choice but to reschedule, but I feel like I need to at least give it a chance.
Keep chugging along with those AUD questions. I know that it's as boring as it gets, but you are going to feel so relieved once it's all over and you know you gave it your all. That's how I just felt with BEC after killing myself those days before exam day. It was not easy, but I am praying it was worth it!

AnonymousInactiveAmay- Are you using Becker? You can do it in 5 weeks if you cover a ton of material each day. Someone said it well in another thread “FAR is an ocean of material that's only a few feet deep”. Think of how awesome it would be to be done with FAR before the holidays.
I finished my FAR sections the day before my test and spent a whooping 24 hours reviewing. I think I passed because I covered my sections well instead of spending so much time reviewing. That doesn't work for everyone, but some how it worked for FAR. I will say leave some time for non-profit and governmental accounting. I blew through those topics because I was short on time and regretted it on exam day.
Good luck! You can do it!

AmayMemberThanks guys. @auslaf I am using Becker. I would love to be done with FAR before the holidays! I know I have to work really hard for it now. Plan is to spend 2 weeks on lectures, 2 something weeks on MCQs, and the rest rewriting notes/reviewing.
I know what you mean about blowing off those last chapters. I actually attempted this exam I think back in 2011 and of course failed miserably cause I had no idea how to study for these things. I ran out of time and completely blew off govt. and NFP chapters, did not even have time to review. Not a smart move!
