not sure if I should reschedule again. I have 3 days until my test and I am still not in review mode. This is what I have been avoiding all along, but health issues and work put me so far behind this time. Things have been so crazy at work the past few weeks and it’s only going to get crazier. Time-wise I fell a little better in my studies than when I got the 73. This time, I actually watched all the lectures, took a lot of notes, and I am only missing about a chapter and a 1/2 of MCQs, which I could do in 2 nights (possibly). Maybe, as a last resort, if I can get the day before my test off work, I can pull this off?! I know about the importance of rescheduling if you are not ready, but I feel with work deadlines approaching soon and the FAR exam scheduled for Dec, I have no room to move BEC yet again. What do you guys think I should do? I checked tonight, and for the price of 60 bucks, there is a slot for Monday the 28th…I just don’t know yet if work will allow it…

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

With FAR in Dec, I'd say try to keep your BEC date, because FAR has a way of taking every minute you give it! If you can get the day before the exam off work, that is a GREAT thing. For my first 3 exams, I took a day or half a day off before the exam, and it was very helpful!

My advice is to stick to your exam dates. Postponing/Rescheduling FAR so many times and then never going through with it is exactly how I lost credit for REG and AUD and now, 2 years later, I'm back trying to pass everything again. I didn't feel like I had enough review time before my Audit exam last week and the stuff that I felt unprepared for didn't even show up on my exam. However, if you can I would definitely take the day before off work. I usually try to schedule my exams for a Monday and take the preceding Thursday and Friday off so I can have a nice 4 day window to study as much as I feel necessary. The rescheduling option is very tempting, especially when you don't feel like you've gotten enough review time, but I am proof that it can be a big downfall.

    CPA, Kentucky

    REG- 72, 85(expired), 83 --FINALLY FINISHED
    AUD- 80(expired), 83
    FAR- 86
    BEC- 82

    All with Becker self study

BEC is so conceptual that I say keep your current test day. Everyone seems to walk out of BEC thinking their materials did not prepare them well. FAR is it's own beast so you'll need the study time. You can definitely pull off BEC if you crank through it over the next few days. Good luck to you.

@Amay I am in the same boat as you, I rescheduled mine to this Saturday.

It all really comes down to this:

I don't EVER EVER EVER want to have to study BEC EVER again. So I am going to study my socks off the rest of the week and guarantee a pass.

I got an extra week for FAR, so why not give myself a couple more days for BEC.

Do what is best for you.

    AUD - Jan 9,13 Pass
    REG - Aug 30,13 Pass
    BEC - Oct 26,13 Pass
    FAR - Dec 4,13 Pass

They extended the testing window through Dec 6th due to Thanksgiving being so late in the Nov testing window.

Thank you guys all so much for your input. I had not checked back all day and I have news to share. My boss let me take the day off tomorrow, although I have to make it up on Saturday (I offered since I really do have a lot of work). I am glad you guys are giving me the extra motivation I need to do this. I have it all planned out and I'm hoping I feel as close to ready as possible on test day!

@Jennifer, Looks like we really ARE on the same boat. I was actually thinking, worst comes to worst I postpone it until Saturday, and just keep Thursday's day off to study. I am glad I get to take tomorrow off though, because I wouldn't feel good about not telling them about the day switch. I was going through the same logic as you though, since we did extend FAR and all. LOL.

UGH!! The indecision of it all kills me sometimes. I swear I stared at that open slot last night on the prometric site for like 5 minutes, wrote this post, went back, and it was gone. I took it as a sign 🙂
