I am working on my first of the four part test for the CPA Exam and chose to take BEC. I am using Becker and I noticed that their MCQ are much more in depth than their lecture or materials. Getting questions wrong is frustrating for me, do you feel the same way or do you find that actually getting questions wrong does help you understand the materials better? How do you handled questions that were completed incorrectly? do you flag them so you can review them later, and continuously review those questions? Trying to see what best practice and advice others have found with the MCQ

Becker was the program included with my Masters degree so I had to use it in order to pass each of the review classes. The detailed material was good for learning the concepts, but I felt like I was drowning in details when working their MCQs.

BEC was the first exam I took and I was surprised that the exam questions were much more straight-forward than I was expecting because of the MCQs I was used to. After I finished my degree, I researched and tested out other review programs in order to find MCQs that were more in line with the actual exam.

I purchased NINJA MCQs because I felt they better reflected the actual exam and was able to raise my score by 12 points the next time I took BEC.

To actually answer your questions, I also get frustrated when I get too many wrong answers. I would suggest doing small batches of MCQs and keep track of your incorrect answers. Are they all from the same chapter? Same section? If so, review that chapter/section before moving to the next batch of MCQs.

Don't worry about asnwering a lengthy question incorrectly. For example, a Cost Accounting question in Becker that requires 9-10 computations is absurd and usually not worth wasting your time. Just look over the solution and really try to understand how they got to their final answer. But, focus on questions that have between 3-6 computations because those would be more likely to be tested. It's hard to gauage which MCQ's to focus on. It's one of the hardest aspects of this exam. Also, look at the DATE of the question using your software. I would focus on more questions released in the 2000's rather than a super lengthy question from 1991. Just my opinion though. Goodluck!!
