I have been studying my tail off for BEC using Becker 2010, and I have nailed down the first 4 sections (IT, Business structure, econ, & finance). I get to cost accounting and I am struggling hardcore to get this section. I am very prepared for the first four sections of this exam, but just got very discouraged when i reached this section. Has anyone else hit this wall?? My test is on 8/30, next Monday, so I have time to get ready. I just wonder how much from the cost accounting section is actually on the test. I am getting 80’s, 90’s’ & 100’s consistently when I do quizzes on the other sections. I am just curious how much work I need to put into cost accounting?

    AUD (7/23) 77

    BEC (8/30) ??

    FAR (10/5)

    REG (10/?)

B5 is heavy tested, makes up a good % of pts. Well what review are you using? I started with Becker and just like you did not get cost accounting, even hit my college textbooks, didnt help much. I found one of the cost acct videos on Club 75, and they clicked! In other words, find other supplements or co-workers/etc that can help you. I cant say how many problems they will test you, but there are fair amount, but who knows, maybe youll still pass with a strong points on the other sections.

Yeah, I am going back through the lectures one by one and attacking this section piecemeal. I looked up the breakdown of the test and cost accounting is 22-28%. I am definitely going to give this section the time that it deserves

so 24 hrs later, I'm still a little flustered with the cost accounting. I would love if they accidentally forgot to put these questions on my exam 🙂 Anybody have any good study tips for cramming these formulas in my brain after i have memorized the other 4 sections?

Rewrite the formulas or make flashcards, only way I shoved them in my brain the night before the exam….

    FAR 7/2 - 88
    BEC 7/30 - 87
    AUD 8/27 - 80
    REG 11/12 - 96

@motivated CPA – nice use of the word piecemeal, obviously you have been listening to peter “i once tackled puff daddy” olinto
