Doable?! or should I spend 5 weeks on BEC?

Also.. im going to do FAR in 40 days… is this really possible.. or would I be pushing it?… I start work a few days after I take FAR..

People have done BEC in 3.5 weeks. I tried and I got a 70 and wasn't working, I studied for 6-10 hours a day. I'd take 5 weeks on it. Can't speak for AUD but I think 3.5 is pushing it.

do it! I just found out I passed REG and I studied from May 10th-May 30th and test on the 31st. Not the best time of my life but beats having to take it again. I wasn't studying on two of the weekends either. Last 10 days were 8-12 hours/day getting ready for it

I sure hope its doable!!! I use the Roger Review course and it gives me 30 days for FAR, about 3 weeks for Reg and Aud, and just under 3 weeks for BEC.

I just started FAR but am feeling really good about my progress. But then again I'm someone that likes to power through stuff instead of doing it “slow and steady”. Whether it will work for you depends on how you learn.

Can I ask all you power studiers something. How the hell so you study 10-12 hours a day? I study full time too when I'm in between temping…but I have the attention span of a fly. I used to do the pomodoro technique, but even that gets tiring. Besides adderall, what do you do to naturally keep you going for that long?

, In regards to your post. I think only you will know the answer as you're going through it! I took 5-6 weeks for BEC full time and came out with a 79. But was not doing 12 hours!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

Yeah, how do you guys do 10-12hrs?

I really tried to for FAR for a week leading up to the exam, but even then I could barely do 9-10, I was so tired.

    Well I don't study 10-12 hours a day.

Keep in mind that I'm fresh off the CMA. Also I put in several years as a “financial statement monkey”. So there are quite a few sections of FAR that I either just learned and pretty much have down or have used for years. Per the study plan in Roger I'm suppose to be putting in about 4 hours 4 times a week and 7-8 hours twice a week. So far i'm just been putting in a steady 4ish.

I feel really really good about FAR but am dreading REG and AUD more than anything. BEC I actually sort of look forward to for whatever dumb reason.

That being said- on days I do study for hours and hours I drink lots of coffee and get up and move around a lot. I also switch up what I'm doing- ie move from MCQs to videos, to just reading the book.

Both can be done, IMHO BEC is easier to do in that timeframe. You might have to study 12-18 hours a day, especially for AUD, but if you have a good background and are generally strong academically you can do it.

    Bec 4/11/11 91
    Aud 7/11/11 75
    Reg 8/31/11 80
    Far 5/24/11 86

It's the quality not the quantity.

FAR was my first section fresh out of college, half assed studied for it for 5 weeks, didn't take notes, just wrote down equations and did most questions… Failed with a 70.

I was also going through multiple major withdrawals from abusing certain things in college.

Reassessed my habits, the ”quality” of my studying. Passed Audit and BEC on the first try studying 15 days each. Right now on a nice break to enjoy a bit of summer, then I'm giving FAR 5 weeks of quality time and REG 5 weeks of quality time.

    Goodluck!

If I was rich and not did not have to work like a slave I would've done:

    BEC:3 weeks

    AUD:3 weeks

    REG:5 weeks

    FAR:6 weeks

I was able to do Auditing in under 3 weeks. About 17-18 days of about 7 hours a day studying. I believe the thing that worked the best for me was typing out condensed informational paragraphs from the 4 explanations the MC gives you. Delete the excess information. Only leave the important information. At the end of about 14 days, I had 80-90 pages of MC notes to quickly review over a period of 2 days leading to the exam. This really helped to cement my knowledge and to separate confusing/conflicting concepts. Hope that helps and good luck!

    FAR 4/30/12 - 86
    AUD 5/30/12 - 94
    REG 7/2/12 - 92
    BEC 7/31/12 - ?

    Thank you everyone!

I am going to try and do 7-10 hours a day on and off throughout the day for 3 weeks straight.. Ill try to finish the lectures & MC questions for each lecture in one day. So for BEC/AUD its 6 days each, that would leave about 2.5-3 weeks of pure reviewing and doing as many MC's as possible.. I hope that this works.. I would hate to study when I start working.. I really give credit to those who do that.. it seems impossible.. but somehow its done!

    @CPATerminator

You mentioned you'd do AUD/BEC in 3 weeks each. How exactly would you go on about studying? Would you skip reading the chapter and just watch the lectures and do as many MCQ/SIMS as possible?

The way it looks right now… I have 25 days to study for BEC, and 23 days to study for AUD.. I can always extend BEC for a total of 5 weeks, and reschedule AUD to around Nov. 24th, while studying for about 2 months while I start work in October full time… ?

Any ideas on what I should do 3 weeks vs the 5 for BEC, and 3 weeks vs 2 months part time for AUD.. I also hated AUD class.. and didnt do so well.. Didnt really understand much..
