BEC is going to be different from the rest. I know what to expect from the others. What about this one. Is it truly one of the easier ones as ppl say? I am using CPAExcel and its great. All of the topics are fairly easy so far. Thoughts?

BEC was the one that tested all of my other weaker subjects from college and I had a very hard time with the material. I didn't like CPAexcel for it honestly. I didn't get a very good grasp of the material until I was a week to a week and half away from my exam date. I'll say that if you're strong in finance, economics, and cost, you'll do fine. Otherwise, it can be a nightmare. Don't by all means be fooled that it is the “easier” one. It is random as hell with tons of different topics in which none correlate to each other. Biggest tip I can give you is to know the formulas back and front. Know that and you have most if not all the calculations done. The calculations will have you backing formulas into other formulas to find the answer and if you don't know which ones to use, you're screwed. Definitely get the ninja mcq as the cpaexcel questions are cake compared to those in ninja as well as the exam itself. I'm desperately hoping it will be my last exam come the 10th but I'm not feeling too optimistic. Good luck!

I don't think its necessarily easier, but you can be prepared for the exam in a lot less time in comparison with REG and FAR. Also kinda depends on how familiar you are with the topics before you start studying. For example, I suck at IT and it pretty much just never clicked. I was shocked as some of the random topics that were tested so don't skip anything in your material. I used Becker and studied 2 weeks full time and felt like it prepared me well.

I found BEC to be the easiest exam. But some find it to be the hardest. This is because (1) it is very random. (2) It has a high pass rate so you need to do better in a raw score to pass compared to other exams. I personally hated COSO and found it hard to drill those random terms into my head.

Mjgarnier, you took the words right out of my mouth, no finger tips. We are certainly in the same boat. Like you, the subjects tested in BEC were no fun in college, except Cost Accounting – I had an excellent professor.

You also advised well on reviewing the formulas. Can't believe I screwed up the simple WACC formula!

So far I have passed every other part; BEC is my only NIGHTMARE and is certainly the TOUGHEST one for me. Questions are thrown at you from every angle on unrelated subjects – no fun at all!!! I even lost one other credit in the process but retook REG and passed. Kudos to those of you who feel it is a breeze.

I just did it for the 4th time and hope – no, P-R-A-Y – that this is the LAST TIME!!! March 10th will tell…

Good luck to all of you!!!
