I feel like sh*t

What else can I say? I sat down to take BEC today for the second time and I can’t believe how hard it is. Maybe not hard actually… but insane!!! It is insane to require me to memorize so much information, and then to test me on NONE OF IT!

So much information I memorized, made myself memorize every formula, know every single which way you can compute break even point, know about budgets and blah blah blah.. and then the test comes and FML.

I now believe I over studied, because when I sat down to take the test my mind was running with formulas and break even point and contribution margin and then I went blank. Question 1 tripped me up, and it was all shit from there. So I feel like sh*t.

I left myself exactly 27 minutes for the WC which I dunno how much you are supposed to write.

Each test-let either got harder or I become more and more stupid (which is a HUGE possibility trust me), and then I flagged like 10 on everyone.

    FML.

Whoever thinks BEC is easy is my enemy. 🙁

I am so miserable, this test is killing any happiness I have left.

Anyone feel like this and pass lol?

I felt pretty down leaving BEC as well. I was certain that I knew the material inside and out on way to the testing center and then got there and felt like the test was in another language. I ended up being pleasantly surprised and you likely will too.

Have a beer and celebrate like you passed because you probably did.

Oh CharleneR I feel your pain- you can read my horrific BEC retake experience over on the BEC experience thread but long story short I wanted to punch someone after I left the exam and then hide in my closet drinking beer and crying. I was that upset. At least you felt like your testlets got harder…. mine definitely did not so I fully anticipate a third sitting which SUCKS. I hate BEC with every fiber in my body and hate the people who say “BEC is the easiest section” even more :-). I agree with Bhunt go drink a beer… Hang in there.

Charlene, I can feel you..felt the same when I failed FAR. I have stopped thinking about the exam results (I Know its not easy to not think) now so can concentrate on my next exam . I have read people with same feelings about their exams and still passed so you never know you probably passed. I took AUD yesterday and I have mix feeling so lets hope we both passsed, fingers crossed. Goodluck!!

You're halfway through!! I sincerely believe if you can pass REG, you can pass BEC. REG has so many examples and whatnot. BEC does have little details but it's definitely passable. But it's the one test that made me doubt a LOT. I felt like during the exam, I was so resigned to retaking it.

But I ended up passing, so you never know.

Bhunt and mckan, I had a very strong shot, or two..OR THREE. Beer wasn't going to cut it, I just don't want to be sober right now lol.

Kanwal, I'm sorry about the FAR score, I honestly think it has to be the worst feeling seeing the # and failing.. It's like torture, you wait (at least I do) up all night and fail.. and what you're supposed to go to sleep? I never could.

Hasy, thank you… Sometimes I'm in shock that I passed REG seeing how much trouble people are having with it, but I feel like it was more info but same topics (law and tax). With BEC it's all over the place with IT, economics, financial management, capital structures, ratios, just soooo much shit. I dunno though, I feel defeated..

I also was taking the BEC test and during the second test-let laughed and scheduled out in my head how I will be studying for it again. I laughed a few times seeing some questions. It was so subjective. I was asked a question and I swear two of the answers would have worked for this question and it was like “which is the best” they both are super good answers.. and I laughed.. How is someone just supposed to guess. There is no way (yes, I'm sure there is a way -I'm just angry) someone would know which is better between the two given the scenario I was given. It just drives me nuts.

BEC is definitely harder than AUD. Ninja BEC was torture. So many long, twisted algebra-like word problems. Very time consuming.

Strategic Planning, Operations Management, and Finance were so bad.

I filled up my laminated paper way more than on the other exams.

Curious, when people feel like shit do they really think they did THAT poorly? Or do they think they missed a few MC and are kicking themselves over it and acting like they think they failed (when they obviously didn't).

I read a lot of stories on here about how people think they bombed and then passed. It makes me wonder if people who miss 10 MC come on here and say they bombed despite actually killing it during the exam..it seems like the concept of bombing is very subjective.

I took REG for my second time yesterday and the MC was much more tricky and difficult than my first attempt, including the first “medium” testlet. The MC testd obscure concepts and added wrinkles that I hadn't seen before in familiar concepts. The sims were much more manageable however. I think I failed, but because of the MC this time…I think I missed a legit 20-25 questions in total (which I consider bombing the MC). I scored a 74 the first time and missed the research questions fwiw

How you feel has almost no relation to your score. Take a couple weeks to enjoy life, when you get your score you can plot your next move. If you passed REG you can pass BEC

    BEC: 85
    REG: 74, 78
    AUD: 86
    FAR: October?

So for those that have ever scored in the 60s, how did you feel after the exam? Did you know you had bombed?

No doubt about it. BEC was the worst. People say “Do this one first” or “FAR is the worst.” The truth is that BEC is no joke and they are all very hard.

@NeedsA75- I can tell you for certain that the only other time I walked out of an exam feeling as crappy about a test as I did about my BEC re-take was my first go round with FAR and I made a 61. This is pretty much what I am expecting out of BEC. My first BEC try when I walked out I felt decent- not great but decent like I possibly had a chance of passing and I failed with a 71. Some people do “over exaggerate” their feelings on test but others know without a doubt when they bombed.

@mckan514w did you feel bad because you knew you missed a bunch of MC or because you blanked on how to do the sims? Or both? My REG retake was tricky MC all the way through. I think I missed like 7 questions per testlet. Sims weren't too bad and I know I scored a good chunk of points there. So I'm on the fence on whether I passed or not…preparing myself for another gut wrenching 74
