Hey guys, I am having a hard time on how I am supposed to study for the MCQs for Becker. Like do you guys take detailed notes of questions that you felt like you did not know and take notes on some of the questions that you feel like you might forget? I am also having a hard time getting through the MCQs because I spend way too long on one question on trying to understand it. I feel like I am taking longer than most people who study for the CPA and I am also a full time studying these materials!

If someone can share their way of approaching Becker MCQs, any advice or tips would really help me stay on the right track. I am going back and forth wondering if I will retain anything mainly because I am taking so many notes from the MCQs and I am only on Chapter 2 of BEC. Imagine if I was studying for FAR, I’d probably take 3 weeks on one module… =(

Create a schedule and stick to it. If you don't finish a chapter, move on to the next one. Eventually, the fear of god and failing will motivate you to study faster and more efficiently. Try to pick up the essence of the topics, while reading or watching videos. when you start doing mcqs you could dial in what is important.

Everyone is different and some study faster than other, with that said below are recommendations on how many weeks to dedicate to each topic:
    FAR 6-8 weeks
    REG 5-7 weeks
    AUD 4-6 weeks
    BEC 4-6 weeks.

assuming. 25-30 hours per week of studying.

I took notes on MCQs for REG only. Not the other 3.
When I took notes on REG MCQs I would only jot down a max of 1 line in a notebook of what concept I was missing.
I re-read these notes the day or 2 before my exam.

Thank you Turo9992000 and Recked, I will definitely take your advice and tips into consideration. You are right about the MCQs being focused on what is important, I can see what topics they are taking from the book, but questions that deal with the application of the material is what I am spending so much time on because I am trying my best to understand that concepts like most people say to do. But I get it that i should not try to dwell on one question too long. I hope this forum may reach out to others as well that are struggling with studying for the CPA, this is actually the beginning for me for I have not taken any sections of the CPA yet, I guess it all comes down to experiences and figuring out what works best for them.
