Has anyone failed beyond belief and then passed on retake? I failed BEC in Aug pretty badly due to multiple reasons and I feel really confident in the material now but just wondering if even you know the information can you still pass after getting a low score?

Of course you can pass after getting a really low score. You will be much better prepared the next time out and you know what to expect. I passed BEC the first time out but I walked in thinking I was going to kill that test and ended up getting an 81. Passed, but I thought I was going to do much better. That test is a stealth killer.

Good luck, you will kill it in a couple weeks.

    FAR 04/11/2016 - 84
    AUD 05/12/2016 - 79
    BEC 07/06/2016 - 81

Thank you. I am wishing I didn't start with this section but a co-worker was going to do this with me and then bailed after I had already started studying. I just normally see slight improvements when people retake so I didn't know if a major jump was possible.

Still haven't passed, but see my REG scores below. Its (almost) possible!

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

this is what I mean. you gradually went up in score, I don't want to do that. My first fail was my own fault, 5 questions in I gave up and just started selecting answers. I am trying to go from 50's to a passing score.

DANG @mtaylo24 I forgot you were a point away last time 🙁 Brutal! You will kill it this time.

@DISLCPA- I totally believe it is possible- on the old thread where most people posted their scores you would see some large jumps from failing to passing… you have this..

personally I'm just hoping my jump is “big enough” I don't know what I will do if I have to study for this one again….

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

I sure hope so! I got a 64 on BEC and due to a multitude of reasons I can say I wasn't prepared. However, I definitely feel more comfortable with the material and I feel like I'm understanding the concepts. I'm just afraid, like you, it'll boost me up into 70-74 range and I'll have to take it again. 🙁 Plan on taking BEC again end of Oct.

    REG: 69, 73, 80!

I hear ya there, I don't want to take again either (nor can I take anymore negativity from the b*t*h in my office if I fail again). I really appreciate all the positive reinforcement.

I hear you, its definitely possible. I only give myself 30 or less days for retakes, I am sure if I would stop messing around with the timing, I would probably get over the hump. It sounds like you are on the right track, having evaluated what might have went wrong and what you can do differently the next go round. Just make sure you start from scratch and give yourself plenty of time to prepare. It has been done countless times around here, so don't give up.

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

I took all of them two times and don't be discouraged. Believe yourself and study, you will be fine.

Aud, 5/9/2016, 74 (ouch), 7/26/2016, I cannot wait to take this test again

@mtaylo24 I gave myself 6 weeks to prepare for retake and feeling pretty good. I also switched from NINJA to Wiley since I needed new MC questions. I can't give up, I will what if the rest of my life and I want to be a role model to my kids about being able to do anything you want. we will beat this thing!!!!

    @vanessachy
I hope you don't take offense but I LOL at your comment. you actually give me hope after seeing some of your major leaps. I gotta keep doing it until I pass. Congrats on your accomplishment.. did you do anything different the second time around? change study material?

@DISLCPA, When I first started the CPA exam, I couldn't focus. So when I was studying FAR and REG, I only read half of the book. This year I started to take it seriously and take my own notes. Aud was the only one that I was so close with the first try and it was heart broken. I decided to concentrate on reading the book instead of practice questions. Everyone said BEC was the easiest, so I only used one month to prepare; that was a mistake, don't underestimate any of the exams. Second time, I made sure that I understand the concepts instead of doing calculation.
Good luck and you can do it.

I don't know if my signature will show up, so here were my scores:

    FAR: 74, 78
    BEC: 73, 88
    AUD: 58, 87
    REG: 68, 88

Was I adequately prepared for my lower scores? Clearly not. But you can make the jump.

    BEC- 73
    REG- 65, 88 (05/16)

Your AUD re-take score was just the boost I needed

    BEC - July 2016 → 78
    AUD - Sep 2016
    REG - Nov 2016
    FAR - Feb 2017

Thank you so much for all your positive reinforcement and showing me that I can get this bad boy finished.

    @vanessachy
I do take my own notes and make notes of questions I miss. I have also been listening to the audio from NINJA every day sometimes twice at work. I plan on re writing my notes this weekend. Thanks again.

I didn't read all the posts, but my first attempt at REG was a 65. I studied about 2 weeks hard and got a 77 on retake. I was scoring about the same on Becker for both tests.

    BEC - 8/8/16
    REG - 66, 77
    AUD - 81
    FAR - 9/8/16
