    Hello everyone,

The first time I took it I got a 74 and walked out thinking it wasn’t too bad. I honestly think that my testlets never got that much harder because I do not remember any very complex questions. My score report showed comparable in three areas of the multiple choice and weaker in the other 3. My written communication was stronger.

I just took BEC for the second time yesterday. I got to the second testlet and noticed it was much more difficult than my first time I took BEC. I spent a lot of time on the second testlet because there was a lot of heavy calculations. Got to the third testlet and noticed it was just as difficult with a lot more complex questions than my first time I took it. Finally got to the written communications with 15 minutes left. I finished two (which were pretty well written) got to the third with very little time left and was only able to put an intro and a couple sentences for the body paragraph before time ran out. My question is, if I didn’t finish one of the written communications completely, will that hurt me? I would love to hear your input and experiences.

Just a quick update to everyone who is reading this post in the future. I ended up squeezing by and getting a 77. I am assuming that the WC I did not finish was not a pre-test considering how much of the MC I knew.

Sally, the same exact thing happened to me just now. Took the exam this morning at 8 am. Breezed through the first testlet, noticed my 3rd one was pretty much damn near impossible. Time ran out and couldn't finish one of the Sims. I really really hope I can pull a 77 like you :(.

what makes you say your 3rd testlet was near impossible? What made it so hard? was it computation heavy ?

Do people with really poor English skills pass BEC? I don't know if it's wise to pass someone on BEC who can't write clearly and fluently. If they're working in the US and they provide bad written communications, they won't be looked upon kindly. Then again, I've worked with non-CPAs whose written English was an absolute atrocity. I am surprised that more (actually, most) jobs don't require TOEFL scores for some of these people who really can't speak and write the language fluently even if they can crunch the numbers perfectly. It's a must in the financial/accounting sector.

@OG Sounds like you did well! I know its hard but I wouldn't worry about it until you actually know. I definitely think that the one I didn't finish was counted but if you did well on the MC, you should be good!
