BEC Score – Feedback on Scoring

So I got my score this morning and unfortunately I failed, 73… What I don’t understand is how I did because according to my score performance report I received comparable for MCQ’s and weaker for the WC.. There is only one section (operations management) that I received weaker for MCQ’s, the rest were comprarable and one stronger for economics.

I would have thought that getting comparable on 85% of the test would allow you to pass since that is the majority of test. I have read people getting a score of 75 with weaker MCQ’s and a comparable WC, which doesn’t make sense as the MCQ’s are the majority of the test…

Has anyone received a comparable MCQ’s and weaker result in WC and still passed? How about just passed, but received a weaker result in WC?

My reports have always said the comparable column is comparing you to test takers that have scored between 75-80. Not sure if yours says that or not.

I was in a similar situation with AUD.

What I believe, take this for what it is worth as it is just conjecture and opinion, is that the questions that you scored stronger in weren't weighted as heavy as required. The one's you scored comparable in were just under the bar for enough points to carry you. The ones you scored weaker in you just lost points on in reality.

Having a weaker WC section this left with a close but non passing score.

Getting that 73 or 74 is pretty harsh. The silver lining is that you are close and improving your MCQ even a small amount as well as WC should get you to a > 75.

    AUD - (74),78
    BEC - 85
    FAR - 86
    REG - 84

Just speculating. Let's say you got a 77 on the MCQ so that would give you 65.45 points for the MCQ. But let's say you only got half credit on your WC so that is 7.5 points and a 73.

    Reg - Passed 82 Nov 2012 - Becker
    Aud - Passed 86 May 2013 - Becker
    BEC - Passed 88 Aug 2013 - Becker
    FAR - Passed 88 Nov 2013 - Becker

Thank you guys for your feedback.. I'm still lost as to how someone could get weaker result for MCQ's and a comparable for WC and still pass..

As I reflect back on test day, I only completed 1 WC from beginning to end, 1 half way through, and nothing for the last one. I realized that it may be possible that the majority of my score was from doing well from MCQ's. I wish they would tell us how many points we got from the WC portion..

I allowed myself 75 minutes on the WC. 15 points can cover up a multitude of mistakes on the MCQ. Think about it, 15 points on the WC means you only need 60 of 85 points on the MCQ.

I shared some tips on how to prepare for WC. Can't totally ignore it but it's really not that hard if you know what I knew…
