BEC – Nightmare Experience - Page 2

Just got back from taking BEC today. Feel mentally exhausted.

I walked into the exam feeling well prepared. There was not a single test bank question that I wasn’t able to answer. I was quietly confident.

First Testlet: Breezed through it in under 20 minutes. I am almost positive that I got every single question correct.

Second Testlet: WOW!! Absolute monster. About 50% of the questions were as difficult as the most difficult questions in the Wiley end of chapter book questions. This testelet took me around 1 hour to complete. Some computational questions took me 5-7 minutes to complete. I slowly methodically worked my way through, making educated guesses on questions that I was unsure about. After this testlet I started do develop a pressure headache due to excessive concentration.

Third Testlet: Not as bad as the second, but definitely much more difficult than the 1st. Again, I just worked my way through methodically, relatively confident that I answered at least 70% correct.

    WC – Easy…

So, I have no idea how I did. When I left the testing center I was mentally exhausted. Today has been bitter sweet because I also just discovered that I passed FAR.

The funny thing is that I finished FAR with 45 minutes to spare and was 100% sure that I had passed. I honestly cannot say the same about BEC.

This exam truly is an emotional roller coaster. Another few weeks of waiting and stressing await me….

    Good luck to everyone else!

I had a nightmare experience as well. Tons of calculations and multiple questions on each testlet I didn't even recognize.

I have BEC for end of August. I have been reading this thread since yesterday. It is a little worrying. What topic are these unrecognizable questions coming from. Is it IT.

H0wdyus, don't worry too much and just prepare yourself the best you can. Some of it depends on the exam you get. I just took my yesterday morning and I think I got a bit lucky (Hopefully I'll know next week) I didn't have ellot of questions from my nemisis IT (thank god!) and had a reasonable amount of calculations It definately wasn't easy and my brain was just numb by the time I finished. I didn't have a ton of WTH questions either but maybe that had to do with how I studied (I use Becker and Ninja MCQ for review), my experience and the test I got. I had some oddly wording questions and one that seemed more REG than BEC so hopefully these were pretest questions. This exam is part luck and part knowledge. The comment about BEC being a mile wide and inch deep seems appropriate!

They were not regarding IT. As ShelahV said, some of it really just depends on the exam you get and I think I was a victim of that. I also studied with Becker and supplemented it with WTB MCQ. You can only control so much, try not to worry about it too much and continue to master the material that you have.

Thanks for your responses. I guess will continue on with Yaeger + video + WTB + Wiley Book Questions. I think praying will help.

Good luck to both of you, remember the pass rate is higher in BEC than others, so you have a good chance. Post back when you get the results.

Good plan on the praying! I had all my friends and family praying for several days before – couldn't hurt right? Plus my mom told me she lit a candle at church for me. Hopefully I got some devine intervention! 🙂

Let me tell you a secret. I even pray in the middle of the exam. 🙂 that is how I passed the ones I passed. It calms you down and gives you confidence.
