So I took BEC Saturday. I feel “OK” about much of it, but there was some that I just had to guess on.

I need some HOPE! Anybody want to share their testimony of their experience with BEC, who thought they were going to fail but…PASSED!?

Perhaps you, like me, had a handful of questions (5-8) that really caught you off guard and you were forced to guess…and you still passed?

    Please share…

    FAR - 75
    AUD - 78
    BEC - 82
    REG - 77

I'm in the same boat as you. I felt I knew the material really well and followed my same study habits that got me 83 on far and 88 for aud on the first trys.

Needless to say I feel terrible about my BEC attempt. I got completely flustered and had to guess on many that I ended up leaving the center and figuring out immediately in my car or looked up andy guess was wrong. It's annoying to know that I knew the material very well but the mental part slaughtered me.

I'm waiting for the 27th and keeping my fingers crossed. If anyone has a horror story that turned out good I'd love to hear it as well lol

From my experience, I just felt “OK” about each CPA part besides Audit(I knew I passed right after)…..and I ended up passing each one! I know its tough but feeling “OK” is a great place to be. Good luck!!!

PS….I felt less than OK with BEC and got an 85!

    Audit(11/5/13) - 89
    Reg(5/16/14) - 86
    FAR(7/18/14) - 82
    BEC(11/14) - 85

Go up to “Forum search” and type in “felt like I failed but passed.” There are tons of threads out there that can give you some hope 🙂

Well… maybe this will give you some hope. I studied the whole time with ONLY Becker's Final Review book, NOT the actual review study book (don't ask lol) and I walked out of the exam feeling like I took the WRONG exam and I scored an 82

    BEC - 02/21/15 - 82
    FAR - 05/29/15 - 82
    AUD - 07/09/15 - 93
    REG - 11/14/15 - 80

    All done!!!

I posted this in BEC exam experience but i will post here also. i feel the same way. I took my BEC exam today. I thought the second testlet was a little more challenging. I feel like i did enough to pass, but I never know coming out of those things. On the WC's two of them I had NO IDEA! Praying for a 75! I felt good about REG because that's what I did in public accounting. but with FAR and now BEC i feel like i do enough to pass, but with FAR it obviously wasn't enough.

Need some advice too. Lets say i don't pass, does everyone just stop what they are doing and re-do the section they just took even though they started studying for the next one? I failed one back in February, but had already had the BEC scheduled so i just started studying for BEC one right away. I don't even have an NTS at the moment to sit. I still have three more to take assuming I didnt pass BEC today. Do I apply for all three or just two? Since the scores dont come out until June 9 for me I seem to be in a pickle because that's 2-3 weeks of studying I could be doing for a section, but which one?. Do i just wait til then to figure out what to do knowing then I'll either have 2 or 3 left. Or if I apply for three and only get approved for two I guess that means I passsd BEC? will they do that?

Please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    AUD - 49, 66, 72, 77!!
    FAR - 72, 73, 78
    BEC - 70, 74, 79, I'm DONE!!!!!!
    REG - 70, 76!!!! FIRST PASS

    JMCA,

It depends on how you did. If you get between a 70-74 and it was your first time taking BEC, I say go back and take it again because you were so close. That kind of score indicates that you are not that far off. I took BEC yesterday as well. I failed it back in January with a 72. I am in the same boat as you. My second test may have been more difficult, but my third one definitely seemed easier than the second which was discouraging. But I think I did really well on the last testlet. I feel like maybe I got a 74 haha. I hate waiting. If I fail again on this section, I am moving on. BEC is tricky in the sense that the material is so diverse and you can't hone in on a particular subject (like tax, financial accounting, etc.).

As far as applying, it depends on your schedule. If you have a lot of time and you know you are going to be studying the majority of your days, then go ahead and apply for the remaining sections. My issue has been getting a NTS for sections that I end up not taking. My schedule is hectic for work and I travel a lot. Sometimes I have signed up thinking that I would start studying for an exam by a particular date and then I haven't because I came close on another section and wanted to give that section another try. This happened with REG a couple months ago and FAR last August. Both of them I just took to sort of see what the exam was like and to not totally throw money down the drain with the NTS expiring.

    AUD- 71,79
    BEC- 72,77
    FAR- 83
    REG- 63,71,83

    DONE!

^^j shores not to rub salt in the wound but would you care to comment on your exam experience when you got the 72? I'm just looking to see how it was compared to mine

I honestly don't remember a lot of it. I know I didn't have any overhead variance problems, which is what I wasted so much time on reviewing in the last few days when I got a 72. I walked out thinking I could have maybe passed but thought it would be close. I think on an overall basis I feel more confident about my test yesterday compared to after I felt when I left the testing center when I got a 72

    AUD- 71,79
    BEC- 72,77
    FAR- 83
    REG- 63,71,83

    DONE!
