Thank you Nicky!!! I did use Gleim and YouTube to study FAR. The practice questions were kind of similar to the real test.
I will start BEC today and see what happen on 10/28!

@re2pect def felt the same as you did on todays retake..if i didnt pass id be shocked bc my confidence is way higher than when i received a 73…much more familiar test material than last time as well nothing was too left field except for a 2 or 3 IT questions,,,probably got lucky and had relevant WCs that i knew alot about…maybe too much because i took too long on the first WC,,,had 25 min left for the last 2,,,last one i had under 10 min…was able to throw down a bunch of keywords though before submiting with 30 seconds left! Yikes!

Just got out of BEC and I am BEYOND P__ED off… Does anyone know if you can file a complaint with the NASB if your exam content percentages were WAY I am talking WAY higher than what the AICPA guide says they will be??? I am talking double ha ha ha… (honestly I am not exaggerating- halfway through the first testlett I started keeping a numbered count of questions on the topic and did the total percentage at the end…) majority wasn't covered in notes, study material, practice MCQ's nothing… I felt very blindsided…. This was 110% different exam than the first time I took it where I left feeling fairly confident…

Calcs. were fairly straightforward and my testlets didn't get any harder- I am guessing I scored a good 10-15 points lower than first go round— guess I will be back at it Q1 and I am absolutely furious…

and they ask me why I drink...

@mckan514w…you got to be freakin kidding me. as I am reading this I am sitting at my desk at work getting ready to study till 3:30, my retake is Monday. I was starting to feel good about my progress and how much I am retaining this time but from what you just said I might as well go in blind….ugh why such BS.

That's interesting.. I just took mine and I recognized close to everything that was being asked. Sure there were questions that I didn't know because I couldn't remember, but most everything I saw was covered in the study material.

@ DISLCPA I honestly think BEC is such a crapshoot it depends on what exam you pull– Like @Jordan Clark- my first go round I thought the exam was very fair representative of the material… and feel certain had I gotten one like that this go round I would have passed because I felt so much better about the material… Unfortunately the one I got… not so much. I remember reading peoples descriptions last go round and thinking OH NO and then was shocked when I got my exam and thought not at all like what people were talking about… guess this time was my time for the out of left field on…

Wishing you much luck on Monday!!!

TOTALLY agree Sticky Nicky- my first one was like yours maybe one or two questions that I had never seen before but otherwise all pretty much out of the study material… this one just made me want to laugh it was so absurd…

@mckan514w that sucks…. hopefully it wasn't as bad as you think but only you know how you felt walking out. My plan of attack is to know the formulas and keywords pretty well. I am taking pretests in Wiley and have been scoring over 75 so hopefully I am prepared to somewhat degree. I was going to push my test date back to the 24th but my husband told me not to, I pushed my test date back the first time probably 4 times and I think that is why I bombed so bad.

Thanks for the wish of luck, I can use all I can get.

    Hang in there 🙂

@DISLCPA No I'm pretty good predictor of how my scores are going to go so would honestly be beyond shocked if I am wrong on this one (and not to freak you out but my practice test scores were 81, 85- ninja and 93 Rogers 🙂 ) Will be keeping my fingers crossed that you “get a good pull”— let us know how it goes!

Hard to think that BEC is creeping up in 2 weeks for me. I've been using Ninja ten point combo (realistically the MCQ supplemented by the notes) and I'm planning out my remaining study time. I should reach review phase on the MCQ by the weekend before the exam and I'm trying to figure out what to focus on once I get to that point. Based on this thread, looks like I should focus my efforts on COSO & IT. Are there any topics on BEC that weren't adequately covered by Ninja and if so, do you know where to study for those topics?

For the COSO stuff, I actually went to their website and printed out information to get some more detail. I like you am focusing on IT, COSO, and knowing the formulas in and out. But have already taken this test once, you gotta be prepared for anything. May the CPA force be with you on test day.

Keep your head up mckan514w! If you had no clue about a lot of the questions you had, then that means whoever else took the same test as you felt that way also. I felt that way after my second attempt and would have passed had I not bombed the WC. As long as you did well on them you should be fine.

    FAR: 75 Roger & Ninja (notes/flashcards/audio/MCQ)
    AUD: 73, 81
    BEC: 71, retake 8/29
