    Hey guys,

    Just took BEC today. It was my second time taking it after a 74 on the first go. I did find it harder than my first attempt though. The MCQ’s were alright. Some were a little challenging, some a little simpler. The sims were extremely time consuming. All of them had multiple documents, which meant that I was only left with 30 mins for the last testlet. I think I did fine on 1 WC, but the other 2 I just wrote about 5 lines and tried to use as many buzz words as I could in those 5 lines. Just wondering if that would be sufficient. Have any of you written very brief WCs and still managed a good score?

    I was also afraid of the brain freeze on the WC so as soon as I read the topic, I used the pencil and paper to write down as many buzz words as I could think of, and then worked them into my written response. Similar to the old college writing method. Start with a topic, create an outline(buzz words), and then flesh it out with writing.

    I am going to mention one thing that usually gets overlooked. If English is your first language, you will likely have an advantage at an exam like this, not to undermine others study habits. I studied my review pretty well and probably practiced over 6,000 MCQs for this part, but I can't tell you in how many questions there were words tossed that I just don't recognize from the review. They could be synonyms for some of the terminology mentioned in the review. Sometimes I can eliminate two answers, but I'm still left with two to guess from. I had so many of these questions on exam, especially IT related. Anyway, I felt really bad coming out of this exam compared to the effort that I put in. I would say I put in half of this labor in FAR and REG and passed those first attempt. One last thing, and this is just for BEC is that I have used 4 different reviews for this exam including Becker, Wiley, Roger, Gleim, and yet none of them can match the what is on the exam. It seems as if reviews are on completely different page from what actually appears on exam. This must be a recent issue, because my friends who took the exam in older format tell me it was not this hard.

    Same here @ Recked. I feel stupid now because I removed some content because it wasn't exactly relevant to the specific situation, and now realized the test is grading for accuracy of the view point necessarily.

    @ slowreader That's an interesting point. I don't recall the actual wording of the questions so can't attest to the language used but I'll take your word for it and hope you can kick this exam to the curb this window

    Don't worry, as a native English speaker there were a couple IT terms I had never heard of on my exam also.

    Just finished BEC this morning. The MCQ's were decent, had to completely guess on some, take a couple educated guesses on others. Overall though not too bad. The sims were easy. Like so easy that I reread one sim thinking I was leaving things out. They were very manageable. I didn't see near as many IT and COSO items as I've seen people talk about on this forum. This is the best I've felt after an exam (I've passed the other three) but we all know what that means. Here's to waiting for another score release hoping NASBA gives us some more clarity. LET THE PARTYING COMMENCE

    Yea, shockingly I also passed with an 83, but I would not be surprised if a lot of those q's I mentioned with unheard of terminology were pretested. No way I got those all right. But…whatever…

    @Bourne

    Yeah, I wouldn't say COSO and IT were heavily tested. Not like NFP/Govt was on FAR or anything. But some of the IT terms were way out of left field and the COSO questions were not superficial, meaning you'd need to know COSO extremely well in order to get them right. Now that I think about it they're kind of opposites. The IT testing is really superficial but covering a huge swathe of topics and the COSO questions are really in depth about a very narrow topic.
