Just want to make sure I don’t miss anything.

I have been using Becker. I have gone through all the Chapters and all mcq 2 times. When i say two times, I mean doing all sections of the questions completely and going back to do the marked ones again. Some of the quetions I have done up to 7 times. Anyhow, I’m down to my last 15 days to review for the exam. I will have 220 hours of Logged study time (reading notecards in the bathroom, doing questions at work does not count in my logged hours). What sections should I put extra emphasis in for my last 15 days?

thanks guys. For FAR i didn't even see the Final exams on Becker. Did well on FAR. Took the final exams for Reg, I remember getting like very low 70%'s on them and really feeling like I wasn't ready. Felt horrible after REG exam like I failed, did ok on that one too.

I'll rock Final exam 1 and see how it goes. Luckily I know COSO from my internal auditing days. I'll pull a quick refresher and crush this test. I'm shooting for a 90 if I can.

    good luck all and thanks!

@rzrbkfaith – I wouldn't say there is NOTHING to gain from taking the practice exams… IMO they are valuable for two primary reasons:

    1) Simulation of how to appropriately manage time for the actual exam. You will also see completely different MCQ's than the homework and this will force you to learn how to interpret the fact pattern in an efficient manner.

    2) Reinforcement of the concept that each exam is “a mile wide and a foot deep”. After going through each section in such depth it is easy to get bogged down because you feel that EVERY page must be mastered to pass… we all know that not only is this impossible but it is simply not required.

My standard practice prior to each exam was, two days before my test date I would take ONE practice exam. I would analyze my misses by writing down which section the content came from and look for MCQ's that covered the concept (typically included in my ‘marked' MCQ's from the homework in that section as I would mark any first-time-miss question as well as others I got right but considered valuable).

I would then spend the day before the exam covering those topics on my handwritten sheet as well as skim any other areas I felt weak in. Day of was VERY light review so as not to burn myself out (I always tested later in the afternoon). I don't know how people manage to do a practice exam the day of… then do another REAL one later on… that's 6-8 hours of looking at a screen while actually thinking! Way too taxing for me!

I have my plan set up for the days before to do basically what you said. I'll take a practice exam and finish the whole thing (writing included) to see where i stand for time management. I then go back and write down the concepts that I got wrong. I then go back to becker mcq and lectures and go over the concept again mulitple times. I then retake the exam the next day and if there are any i still get wrong I repeat prior day's excercises. Day of exam I lay in a hammock outside under a tree and go over notecards of my problem areas and mnemonics out loud. It has worked so far so i'm hesitant to do anything differently.

    Very good advice smeech.

    Thanks and good luck!

IMO you have knocked out the two hardest exams already.

Thanks. I wanted to get the hardest ones out of the way and I could see how I stacked up. Now, there are no excuses left.
